Sourced and sold with profits going to UK hospices. Disclaimer It is our aim to take good quality, used handbags that are no longer wanted and pass them on to a new home whilst supporting The Martlets Hospice. Unless otherwise stated all our bags are used and worn and so are not perfect. Although we check and try to point out any defects, please note that the bags are all bought as seen and no refunds are possible. In the case of ‘designer’ bags and those donated by celebrities, we err on the side of caution and only attribute names and brands to those bags we have personally collected and/or can vouch for or provide provenance. In the case of other designer bags on display, especially vintage, we urge you to make your own decision on authenticity. Finally, although we prefer a ‘silent bidding’ format, our aim is to raise as much as possible for our chosen hospice, therefore we reserve the right to provide hints and encourage upward bidding on certain bags as and when we feel necessary. Handbags for Hospices Auction Catalogue Thursday 23rd May 2013 | 06 Handbags for Hospices is the brainchild of Abigail Bowen and Lucy Wilkes. The first pilot event was held in Brighton on 1st March 2012 and attracted over 50 women, 130 handbags and raised £2,000 for The Martlets Hospice in Hove. Since then we have raised a further £7,000 and have decided to give women all over the country the opportunity to get together, have fun and bid on each others handbags for charity using the Handbags for Hospices concept. We believe that Handbags for Hospices offers limitless possibilities for individuals, retailers and designers to get involved and help support the amazing work done by UK hospices every single day. You can get involved in lots of ways; • donate your good quality handbags • bid on a bag at one of our events • hold an event and support your chosen Hospice • become a ‘donation station’ and collect bags from your family and friends • join us on Facebook and Twitter and help spread the word. www.handbagsforhospices.com www.facebook.com/HandbagsForHospices @handbags4hosps www.handbagsforhospices.com Catalogue design donated by Blank Associates.
