remember those military service members we
have lost in service to our great country and
thank those who are or have served.
Market Music
From Nashville, TN, Dustin is
a singer/songwriter whose songs explore
much further reaching boundaries. Growing up
with influences ranging from James Taylor and
Bob Dylan to Marvin Gaye and John Coltrane, the
content in Dustin’s writing reflects introspection
into the concerns of the human spirit. His first full
length project, “Notions”, with John Kelly,
contains many references to nature in the midst of
joy and struggle. With a “roots” acoustic sound,
Dustin’s intimate lyrics and raw style shine
through.

Vendor of
the Week:
Giving
Thanks
Farm
Giving Thanks
Farm is owned and
operated by the Owen
family- Brian, Amiee
and Julia. They joined
the Downtown Farmers
Market in 2013 and have
returned for their second
season this year. Both
Brian and Amiee have
farming
in
their
backgrounds;
Brian
being a third generation
farmer. Julia, their 11year-old daughter raises
and cares for the laying
hens and will be selling
her eggs at the market
this year.
Brian and Amiee
wanted to establish a
farm that got back to
heritage methods of
raising animals. So in
May of 2012, they
established
Giving
Thanks Farm located in
Montgomery
County,
Tennessee.
The farm
has quickly grown since
its start, at first raising
chickens, Muscovy
ducks, and Heritage
turkeys on chemical-free
pastures and expanding
its line of meats to
include
free-roaming
pork; grass-fed, grain
finished
beef
and
pasture-raised chicken
eggs. They believe in
farming as organically as
possible. There are no
antibiotics and no added
growth hormone ever
used in their meats and
eggs. Their meats and
eggs are all raised on
chemical-free pastures
and finished soy-free
with no added fillers,
MSG or nitrates used in
their meats. They offer a
CSA that runs in cycles
of every 4 months.
