Recognized nationally and internationally as a triple board certified aesthetic,
plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Raffi Hovsepian is acknowledged by his
patients for his creative artistry, precision and mastery of his profession and is noted
for his training, leadership, research and dedication in aesthetic plastic surgery.

Raffi Hovsepian. His aim is to provide the best possible care to all of his patients

Motivated by a family tragedy at the early age of 8, Dr. Hovsepian decided to
become a plastic surgeon. In his own words, he chose to become a plastic surgeon
because, “plastic surgery lets me apply principles and techniques to give people
a new start in life.” His perseverance and tenacity took him through his Bachelor
in Science degree at the University of California, Irvine, where he graduated Magna
Cum Laude and led him to medical school at the prestigious Chicago Medical
School. There Dr. Hovsepian earned his Doctor of Medicine degree and completed
two Masters in Science, Pathology and Physiology; graduating in the top 10% of
his class. Prior to training in plastic surgery, Dr. Hovsepian completed his residency
and was certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) in general surgery at the
University of Nevada School of Medicine, Las Vegas, where he graduated as the
Chief Resident.

concluding his nine years of formal training, Dr. Hovsepian completed subspecialty
fellowships in aesthetic surgery of the nose, face, breast and body.
Dr. Hovsepian takes great pride in being triple board certified by the American Board
of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), the American Board of Surgery (ABS) and the European
Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS). In addition,
he has been indoctrinated into American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), an
accomplishment achieved by only a hand full of surgeons.
As Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine and former Co-Director
of the Newport Beach Aesthetic Surgery Fellow & Resident Training Program
at the prestigious Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery Institute, Dr. Hovsepian educates
and mentors up and coming plastic surgery residents in training. Furthering his
commitment to education in his profession, Dr. Hovsepian has lectured at over
thirty conferences nationally and internationally, taught courses, authored and
co-authored numerous medical journals, articles, book chapters and educational
videos. The international respect Dr. Hovsepian continues to earn as a surgeon
allows him to travel the world collaborating with surgeons on innovative
advancements in aesthetic and plastic surgery. Dr. Hovsepian is an international
visiting scholar performing educational surgery on numerous continents including
North America, South America, Asia and Europe. Additionally, he is a member of
multiple prestigious medical societies, including the International Confederation
of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS), International Society of
Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), Fellow of the American College of Surgeons
(FACS) and American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), which denote excellence
in the field of medicine.
