Amateur competitors in the Granfondo San Remo­San Remo “la
Classicissima” take on the finale of the Milan­San Remo a few hours before the pros arrive. San
Remo, Italy – The Granfondo San Remo­San Remo “la Classicissima” will take place on March
22–the same day as the Milan – San Remo “Spring Classic” professional race. At the Granfondo
San Remo­San Remo “la Classicissima,” amateur cyclists will compete and experience first­hand
the Spring Classic’s adrenaline­charged finale before the professionals arrive.
At 9:30 a.m., a pace car will leave San Remo and head off to Imperia. Once the Ligurian capital has
been reached, the race master will lower the flag, the powder will be lit and only the most daring
participants will be able to meet the challenge before them. Competitors will then race to the finish
line, traverse the Cipressa and the Poggio di Sanremo along the way and experience the same thrills
as their sporting heroes.

however, this competition will preserve the spirit of cycling, where even amateur competitors can
travel the same roads as the champions and enjoy the early spring panoramic views of the Ligurian
Riviera.
