How To Measure Skylight Windows For Blinds Velux The code is located once you open the window pulling down the operation bar, it is located here: • • • Window codes will be for example: GGL... GPL... PTP... FTT... FPP... FPU... FYP... Roto Windows The age of your window will depend upon where your code is located. The code can be found in one of two different places. Open your window and look on the right hand arm of the roof window. The serial code should be located there under a blue or red tag. If you can't find anything in this position please try the second location. Again with the window open, look on the right hand side of the top inside edge of the sash (the part of the window that moves). these are 435 and 735 windows (these have a grey handle at the bottom of the window) and the code can be found here: • • • • The serial number will be similar to the following examples: 435 W DF 7/9... 435 HBT 7/11... 735 HBT 5/9... 847 HBK 7/14... 320 windows (these are older windows have a black or brown handle at the bottom of the window) and the code can be found here: • • • The serial number will be similar to the following examples: 320 AG 5B7... 339 DC 7N11... 539 HB 6/11... Rooflite Windows Rooflite/ windows have the code placed like the Fakro window, except on the left not the right. Open the window from the handle at the bottom and when the top of the window comes into the room, you will find the plate located here: • • • • • • • Window codes will be for example: AA AP AV AW DP MOE MOEV If you are unable to find a code for your skylight, you may be able to identify it by measuring the glass size. The main series are: 300, 500, 400, 700, 600, 800 – Generally these sizes can be grouped together: [300/500], [400/700] and [600/800]. The angle of the tapers in these window series are defined below. Generally these are the case but again there can be variations. Generally the information required to identify the window is on the identification tab. Please see the following pages for were to find these identification tabs in different locations across the different series. If this identification tab can’t be found the following information is required: Approximate age of window Wood or PVC Is the profile square or tapered as described above The visible glass dimensions – width and height (mm) This information is then tied up against those stated in the pricelists. Other differences: 600 and 800 series are different depending on whether they are wood or PVC. Furthermore 647 and 847 are different in size to typical 600/800 series windows. Therefore the most important occasion to locate the identification tab is for these types of window series.
