A moving love story about a photographer on
assignment to shoot the historic bridges of Madison
County. He meets a housewife, whose husband and
children are away on a trip, and the film traces a
brief affair that is never sordid but instead one of two
soul mates who have met too late.
*Sign up for both of these activities under
upcoming events in the front of the Activities Book.
Fitness and Wellness
From Ashton,
Director of Fitness & Wellness
During the whole month of April, The Cypress is
having “Club Ped.” This is a chance for every member to
get in as many miles as they can throughout the month.
You can earn miles from walking outside,
on the treadmills or anywhere else you
choose to walk. This is a great program to
tie in with our American Heart Association
“Cypress Walk Day,” that’s scheduled for
Friday, April 29th.
21
Blood Pressure Checks are given by the
Resident Services department in the Clubhouse.
Feel free to stop by anytime.

Al Lewis and Willy Clark are a pair of feuding vaudeville
comedians (Lewis and Clark, naturally) who performed together
for 47 years before finally calling it quits. A network genius then
has the brilliant idea of reuniting
the duo for a TV special about the
history of comedy. Once the
reunion is on, the sparks and oneliners start to fly with equal
speed. But can Lewis and Clark
put aside their differences long
enough to collect one last
paycheck?
Come out and enjoy an all-star
cast (after two rehearsals) that will keep you laughing all week, perhaps even
all month. It will be a fun way to spend your Sunday evening!

In Tom Stoppard's best-known work, this Shakespearean

so in a world where echoes of Waiting for Godot resound, where
reality and illusion intermix, and where fate leads our two heroes to a tragic
but inevitable end.

Walter Marx: A Jewish Child in Nazi Germany
Wednesday, April 20, 2016
7:30 pm
College Room
Walter Marx will talk about the experience, feeling, and lack
of understanding of a Jewish child in Nazi Germany. His talk will
be interpersonal with history leading up to World War II. It will
also deal with luck in our lives. Without it, he says he would never have had
a life at all. And finally he wants to share his talk because there will not be
any survivors left in a few years.

Professional Singer, Solmaaz Adeli
with Piano Accompanist David Jennings
Saturday, April 16, 2016
7:30 pm
Community Hall
American mezzo-soprano Solmaaz Adeli (She is married to Ab
and Diane Promislow’s grandson) has been praised for her wide
range, agility and the luster of her timbre. Her wide range spans three
octaves, her repertoire thus ranging from Baroque to Modern Opera. Equally at
home on the opera stage as well as a soloist on the concert stage, Solmaaz
kicked off 2016 debuting a new work by Grammy Award Winning Barry
Phillips with the Santa Cruz Chamber Players, as well as works by Schubert and
Korngold. Her recital engagements take her regularly to perform in Pebble
Beach at Church in the Forest and as the alto soloist for the Santa Cruz Chorale.
Solmaaz performed for the Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles in
2015...her repertoire is impressive and long. Come enjoy this very special night.
We are incredibly lucky to have her perform here at The Cypress.

“Sea Level”
Thursday, April 7, 2016
Depart at 11:15 am
Bring money for lunch
Sea Level is located in Hearst Tower in the former location of
LaVecchia’s that closed three years ago as well as City Tavern
before it. Created by the same owners of Growlers Pourhouse and
the Crepe Cellar, the new concept will serve fresh oysters, fish, burgers, salad,
corn fritters and more.
The owners have been planning the concept for years and it shows in the
restaurant’s décor, menu and attention to detail. The Executive Chef, Chris
Boyleston, is formerly of Stagioni, Customshop and Passion8 — so the
resume obviously precedes him and he doesn’t disappoint.

When an award-winning journalist and his producer discover
that a sitting U.S. president may have been AWOL from the United
States National Guard for over a year during the Vietnam War, it
erupts into a scandal that ruined an esteemed career, nearly changed an
election and almost took down CBS News in the process. Based on the book
""Truth and Duty" by Mary Mapes. Starring Robert Redford and Cate
Blanchett Rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America for
