Day 2, Sunday Enjoy the hills and valleys through scenic Pennsylvania en route to Fishkill, NY. B Day 3, Monday Today our “scents” take us to the huge Yankee Candle Company in South Deerfield, MA. Yankee Candle's flagship store, which opened in 1989, features all the available Yankee Candles as well as kitchen and home accessories, New England crafts, gifts and collectibles. We will have a chance to dip our own candles while here. We continue on to Woburn, MA, for two nights’ lodging. B Day 4, Tuesday A local guide boards our coach this morning for a Boston, Lexington, and Concord City Tour. Our nation’s history began in these areas and we will view numerous landmark sites. B Day 5, Wednesday This morning is reserved for Kennebunkport, ME, a long time favorite of artists and writers. A narrated tour provides insight into the local history and area attractions. We continue on to Portland, ME, for two nights’ lodging. Dinner is included this evening. B, D Day 6, Thursday We begin our day with a local guide who will show us the sights during a Portland City Tour. Next we enjoy a narrated cruise of Casco Bay including the famous Portland Head Lighthouse. B Day 7, Friday We continue on our drive through the brilliant landscapes of White Mountain National Forest, NH, along the beautiful Kancamagus Highway. An option to board the 80-passenger Mt. Cannon Tramway is offered this afternoon. Tonight’s accommodations are in Lincoln, NH. B Day 8, Saturday We begin today with a visit to Rock of Ages Quarry, one of the world’s largest granite plants in Graniteville, VT. Areas of observation will show us drilling, blasting, cutting and polishing operations. Next is the Morse Farm and Sugarhouse for the step-by-step process of maple sugaring techniques as well as the history of syrup making. We continue to Ben & Jerry’s in Waterbury where we learn the process of making their famous ice cream. Dinner is included this evening. B, D Day 9, Sunday A warm and fuzzy greeting awaits our arrival at the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. We will learn how teddy bears are put together from start to finish as we view the creative process. Nearby we visit the Shelburne Museum whose galleries feature fine art, folk art, and artifacts depicting early New England life. Early afternoon, we board the Lake Champlain Ferry for the crossing to the state of New York. We view spectacular scenery on our way to our accommodations for two nights in Lake Placid, NY. B Day 10, Monday Today begins with a guided tour of Lake Placid including the site of the 1980 Olympics and its current Olympic involvement. This afternoon we experience a leisurely boat cruise on Lake Placid with the Adirondack Mountains as our backdrop. Leisure time allows us to experience the resort village located on Mirror Lake. B Day 11, Tueday This afternoon we arrive in the capital city for a guided tour of Albany, NY, including the Capitol/ State Complex and the historic Schuyler Mansion. This evening we enjoy dinner together. B, D Day 12, Wednesday Today we make our way to Niagara Falls, NY, where we can view the majestic beauty of the falls during our Maid of the Mist Cruise. We remain in Niagara Falls tonight and have a free evening to explore nearby attractions and dining. B Day 13, Thursday We travel to tonight’s lodging in Maumee, OH, stopping at the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum. A farewell dinner is planned for this evening. B, D Day 14, Friday Today we return home with many long-lasting memories of New England Splendor.
