elcome to the world of online banking, where you can conduct transactions and monitor your
accounts from the comfort of your home, 24 hours a day. To get started, you must first contact
the credit union at 315-342-5300 (or stop in) so we can set you up in our computer system. The
rest is easy. Just follow these step-by-step instructions, which will get you started in minutes.

Step 1: Visit www.compassfcu.com
After you visit our
Compass web site at
www.compassfcu.com,
click on the gray tab that
says “Online Banking”
in the upper right-hand
corner of our home page.
This will lead you to our
secure Internet banking
web site.
Step 2: Enter your User ID & Password
Type in your Compass
account number in the box
that says “Enter Your User
ID.” In the box that says
“Enter Your Password,”
type in the last four digits
of your Social Security
number. Later in this
process, you will be given
a chance to change your
password. We recommend
doing this to ensure your
account is as secure as
possible. Click on the
button that says “Log In.”

Step 3: Click on the “Enhance my Security” button
This page is telling you
that important security
features are built into
your online account to
provide the highest level
of protection against
identity theft and fraud.
Click on the button that
says “Yes. Enhance my
Security.”
Step 4: Pick an image & answer two security questions
Choose an image by
clicking on the round
blue button underneath
it. You will be asked
to click on this image
when you login to
your online account.
After picking an image, select two
“Challenge Questions” using the drop
-down arrow and type in the
answers to each question in the boxes
called “Challenge Response.” You
will be asked to answer one of these
two questions when you login to your
online account. Click on the button
that says “Submit and Login Now
Using New Security Features.”

Step 5: Login to your account again
After you pick your
security image and
Challenge Questions, the
system will ask you to
login again. Enter your
Compass account number
in the box that says
“Enter Your User ID.”
Enter the last four digits
of your Social Security
number in the box that
says “Enter Your
Password.”
Step 6: Pick your image & answer one security question
Select the security picture you
picked the first time you
logged into the online
banking system.
Answer the Challenge Question with
the response you typed in the first
time you logged into the online
banking system. Click “Continue.”
Important note: If you click on the
box that says “Please register my
computer for future use,” you will
no longer be asked to pick an image
and answer a Challenge Question on
this particular computer. These
security features will appear if you
login on a different computer.

Step 7: Change your password
You now have the
opportunity to change
your password. Type in
the last four digits of your
Social Security number in
the box that says “Current
Password.” Type in a new
password in the box that
says “New Password.”
Retype this new password
in the box that says
“Verify Password.”
When you type in your current
password and your new
password, the characters will
appear as dots in the boxes.
This is an added layer of
security. When you are done,
click on the “Continue”
button.
Step 8: View your accounts
Congratulations! You can now
view your accounts online.
Initially, a summary of your
accounts will appear on the
screen. You can now use the
icons at the top of the screen
to make transfers, view your
statements, apply for a loan,
e-mail the credit union, and
more. To view the history of
each account, click on the
“Go” button beside the box
that says “History.”
