Dear Simmental Breeders,
On behalf of the Virginia Simmental Association and DP Sales Management.
I would like to extend a special invitation for you to be with us on Friday, April
18th at the Virginia Beef Expo Simmental sale to be held in Harrisonburg,
Virginia.
The sale offering each year continues to grow and this year we have
consignors form Virginia and ten other states. This strong offering includes a
great selection of herdsires with calving ease and performance, functional bred
heifers and many bred cows to add to your program; fancy open heifers with
loads of potential; plus some of the breeds best embryo genetics. The offering
includes both purebred and SimAngus genetics that will be profitable for a
seedstock or commercial operation.
I encourage you to come early and take in all the Expo events plus the trade
show. Also, don’t forget the annual membership meeting and dinner the night
before the sale. It has been a great pleasure to work with the sale chairman
Tommy Cline and the Virginia Secretary, Betty Campbell.
If you have questions regarding the offering please visit with the consignors.
Also, if you need any assistance contact Charlie Thomas, Dalton Lundy, Joe
Beckett, Jered Shipman or myself. We look forward in visiting with you at the
Virginia Beef Expo.

Blackbird had a very successful show career. Among her honors
was Supreme Grand Champion female at the 2003 New York State
fair. She exhibits a tremendous amount of power while maintaining her
femininity. Her picture really highlights her massive rib and bone, all
on a moderate frame. Her progeny have excelled in the show ring and
sale ring, from a variety of sires. A Goldmine son was Grand Champion
bull at the highly competitive 2005 Pennsylvania farm show, as a 10
moth old calf! A Lucky Buck daughter topped the ETR spring cowherd
sale, this fall with over 200 head selling. She just doesn’t miss with
any mating. Combine this with the style and phenotype of Steel Force
and you arrive at a mating that should be an asset to any program.

Absolutely the best we can offer! We just call her Mo and she has
been Malory’s show calf since the fall of 2006. Offering her for sale
was a tough decision however, we wanted to show the Simmental
breeders just what to expect from the Genex sire, SVF/NJC Mo Better.
We teamed with Double N to make Mo Better a permanent resident
of Virginia in 2006. The Nolan’s have already weaned an outstanding set of his calves and we, at Black Ridge, have never been more
excited about a calf crop than we are this spring. This powerful female
exemplifies the type of modern Simmental genetics we can all expect
from her sire. Investigate the maternal side of her pedigree you will
discover she can truly stand among the most elite our breed has to
offer. A homozygous polled beauty that will be sporting a new Fortune
500 baby by sale time, Mo Desperate is good enough to anchor your
new cow family! Homo polled by pedigree.

D&D Princess’s dam was the high selling bred heifer at one of Dave
Stought’s first Black Magic sales. She has the style and confirmation
that breeders want to today’s market. Her 734 sire was one of the best
to walk our pastures. She is one of my favorites in terms of soundness
and structure. Princess is bred to our junior herd sire, SVF Saraha’s High
Power for a late April early May calf. Don’t miss this great opportunity to
move your program to the nest level.

producing some outstanding calves. Athena’s actual carcass data ultasound

This is a moderate framed, easy keeping female. Her blood line is
one that has been proven repeatedly and still holds with her good nature and great maternal traits. She has been tested and is homozygous
black and would be great in a donor program. We hate to let her go,
she’s been an incredible asset to our program and we know that she
would make a great addition to another herd as well. Her calf is sired
by BAR CK VISION 227P who is a homozygous polled/black son of

great potential, take her home and put her into the show ring and/or
