A mamak stall is a food establishment which serves
mamak food. For Malaysians abroad, mamak food
are one of the things that they miss most.
Mamak-culture or “frequenting a Mamak restaurant” has become a phenomenon in Malaysia. The
casual dining atmosphere within mamaks is one of
the main reasons why people of all ages, races, and
religions are able to gather here. Therefore, a view
in mamak restaurant is a display of colors, unity and
family values.
This musical sketch is about a mamak, a restaurant
owner who faces a problem in his business when
a contractor from an urban development company
wants to buy the restaurant’s site for development
purpose. This story continues with the effort of his
daughter and his loyal customers to protect and save
the land.
