Method
Pre-heat the oven to
180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4.
1.Cut out 5 circles from the baking
parchment and line the bases of
the tins.
2. Put the flour, butter, caster sugar,
eggs, baking powder and milk into
a food processor and mix until
well combined.
3. Divide the mixture into 5 bowls.
4. Add ½ tsp of the food colour gel into
each sponge mix and mix well.
5. Put each coloured sponge mix into
the prepared cake tins. Spread the mix
evenly and make a slight dip in the
centre, to help achieve an even rise.
6. Bake in the oven for approximately
18 minutes until the sponge is cooked,
risen and springy to touch.

7.Allow to cool, then remove the
sponges from the tins and remove
the paper from the bottom.
8. To make the icing, lightly beat the
cream cheese and vanilla extract.
Then slowly fold in the icing sugar,
continuing to mix. If you find the
mixture too runny to stick, add a little
more icing sugar as desired.
9. To assemble the cake, smear a little
icing on a plate.
10. Then put the blue sponge on top,
cover with a thin layer of icing.
11. Repeat with the green, yellow,
orange and red, layering with a thin
layer of icing.
12. Spread the rest of the icing all
over the sides and on top of the cake
and then serve.

CATCH A MONSTER!
The players sit on the floor in a circle. One player stands and tucks
a ‘monster tail’ into their waistband (length of ribbon/a belt, etc).
The monster circles the group, touching each player on the head
saying “Monster, monster!”
When the monster touches a player on the head and shouts “Ghost!”
the monster has to run around the circle and take the ghost’s place
before the ghost can grab the monster’s tail.
If his tail is grabbed by the ghost, the monster has another turn as
monster, but if the monster gets to the ghost’s place
and sits before they can grab the monster’s tail,
the ghost becomes the next monster.
CHOCOLATE SIXES
Roll the dice. Pass the dice around the circle until
someone rolls a 6. When a 6 is rolled, the child needs
to put on a hat, scarf and gloves and begin to cut and
eat a chocolate bar with a knife and fork.
Meanwhile, the other children continue
to roll the dice.
As soon as the next 6 is rolled, the child
cutting the chocolate must stop immediately,
and pass the clothes and cutlery to the
next child.
