His AH 3000 body is back from the painter! Now reinstallation of all that stuff that came outta there
begins in earnest.
A few of us have had glimpses of some of the new
& shiny bits Rod has gathered together toward his
restoration, so, now we have to wait impatiently to
see it come back together.

Bob’s Sprite is in Dry Dock
Bob’s Sprite Project is a 1958 Austin Healey
BugEye Sprite that he plans to race. Earlier, Bob
got his welding done using a rotisserie that he built.
With the major welding finished, he shipped it over
the garage door was that streamlined airfoil running
back down the rear from the mockup headrest. It
looks like it’s already at full speed!
Bob noted that this model Austin Healey Bugeye
Sprite did not come with a trunk lid that opened.
You crawled in and groped into the dark cavity
behind the seats for the spare tire & tools. Bob has
traced a pattern for a moveable panel he plans to
install because he also plans to locate the battery in
the rear cavity primarily for purpose of moving the
CG further to the rear for balance.
Bob found and bought the seat blanks that he will
cushion, upholster and mount to chair rails.
Engine? What engine?
Although it looks like a toy, it’s a

the right amount of spunk for
race track traffic. It’s coming
along nicely!
for Hank Brillhart to use on his Sprite race car.

more on the

guys are building
in their garages!

2016 Schedule
Mark and I double-checked 2016 schedules for 24 Hour
LeMons, ChumpCar & World Racing League. Based on
the amount of work the car still needs, here is our 2016
schedule.
World Racing League Raceway Park of the Midlands.
(Just outside of Omaha) 10 hour race July 23rd and 6hour race July 24th.
ChumpCar Motorsports Park Hastings (Neb) 12 hour
race Sept 10th and 6-hour race Sept 11th.
World Racing League Hallett Motor Race Circuit (OK) 9
hr race Oct 22, 7-hr race Oct 23.
To ensure adequate seat time for all drivers, we are
limiting seats to five drivers per race weekend (that's
Mark, me and three others). What does it take to
participate in this lunacy? Besides being a bit crazy, it
takes a long weekend, a bit of cash and some safety
gear. With one or two paying drivers, it is $750 per race
weekend and a share of the gas (usually about $80).
With a full complement of five drivers, the cost is $700
per weekend, and no gas charge. If you have no safety
equipment, you will need to purchase a helmet (see
Chumpcar & WRL websites for information on approved
helmets). We can loan you about everything else.
TO LOCK IN A SEAT TO DRIVE THE RAT:
1. Call Harry 316-776-0065 / Mark 785-234-2005
2. After call, mail $250 deposit to hold the seat. It will be
reserved upon receipt of deposit.
3. Send an add’l $250 30 days prior to race date.
4. Balance is due on race day.
Yeah, I know. It's not cheap. But it's the most fun you can
have without getting naked. And we can't help you out there.

often referred to by experts as the world’s first
supercar – will be hand built by Jaguar Classic to
the exact specification as they appeared in 1957,
replacing the cars lost due to the famous Browns
Lane factory fire.
Tim Hannig, Director Jaguar Land Rover Classic,
said: “The XKSS occupies a unique place in
Jaguar’s history and is a car coveted by collectors
the world over for its exclusivity and unmistakable
design.”
The original cars were earmarked for export to the
USA, however, just 16 were completed before
disaster struck. Now 59 years later, Jaguar is going
to build the nine ‘lost’ XKSS sports cars for a select
group of established collectors and customers.
The expertise gained during the construction of the
Lightweight E-type project will be transferred to the
construction of the nine ultra - exclusive
continuations. Each one will be hand-built at
Jaguar’s new ‘Experimental Shop’ in Warwick.
These modifications included the addition of a new
higher windscreen, an extra door on the passenger
side, taking away the divider between driver and
passenger and the removal of the famous fin
behind the driver’s seat.
My Dad, my son's Grandfather, wanted us to invite
his favorite type of cars: European Sports Cars. He
turned 80 this year & lives in Wichita, KS and will
be coming! Entry Fee is $10 per car, Parade is

Below is a sample entry…(due to the fact that your

This is a great Car & Cycle Show which also gives
was exported first to USA. While anything is
possible, by 1954, thousands of left hand drive
TDs and TFs were being built and exported to
the U.S. They could hardly give away the right
hand cars in this market. Now, highly sought
after.
While your picture doesn't show the interior, it
appears that it is right hand drive. If that is
correct, it would have been exported (UK to US)
by a private individual, not MG... Is there
something in the original book to lead you to this
conclusion? Any chance of an old picture of the
original UK number plate? The structure of
the numbers / letters can tell you a lot about
where it was registered. My AON 652 tied it to
Coventry, England and corroborated the MG
documents of the original purchaser. The Prewar portion of MG Car Club in UK was able to
supply me with copies of the original "build
sheet", Purchaser's name and address, and many
other records for a very small fee. Any help
from original MG Car Club -UK? I have an old
badge for Royal East African Automobile
Association.... Have you tried contacting them?
Countries have been re-named but perhaps there
might be an historic lead for you. Anders Ditlev

BACK PAGE:
Scott Ochs has owned this very fine-looking
1974 TR 6 since 1983. “It was my daily
driver for five years. The only
modifications are Weber down-draft
carburetors, a Monza exhaust, and
electronic ignition, which made it very
reliable, even for the twelve years we lived
in Boulder, CO. The engine was rebuilt in
1995 and last winter the clutch and gear
box were renewed.
I was assisted
by my good friend, David Ayala (owner of
Ayala Customs) who didn't speak to me for
three weeks after we finished, because we
pulled the gear box from INSIDE the cabin.
Unless you are under 5 ft and weigh less
than 110 lbs, I suggest pulling both engine
& gearbox as one so you have more room
to work!”
