Quick Facts - St. James Plantation
St. James Plantation has 81 magnificent holes of golf! Quick Facts About St. James The Developer New Neighborhood From the beginning, St. James Plantation was a labor of love—a vision of Mr. Homer E. Wright, Jr. With what started as a search for the ideal place to retire, Mr. Wright uncovered something much bigger than a personal retreat. Near Southport, NC, he found wooded property that bordered the Intracoastal Waterway and he instantly fell in love. And, with developer, Claude Smith, and business partner, John Atkinson, the three began work on building St. James Plantation. SeaSide Our newest neighborhood, SeaSide, offers a variety of floorplans, including the soon-to-open cottages at Sandy Cove – at a fraction of the cost. Priced from the $225s, SeaSide’s coastal architecture is timeless, inviting and full of curb appeal. Floorplans range from under 1,600 to right around 2,000 square feet. Lawn care and irrigation are entrusted to the association….leaving more time for Y.O.U. And, SeaSide is 5 minutes to the beach, around the corner from The Reserve Club golf course and clubhouse, steps from the SeaSide Club, and a gated entrance is nearby— offering convenient access to Southport. Through the years, the developers, all native North Carolinians, worked tirelessly to create a place that residents had always dreamed of. Each new neighborhood, amenity and golf course was planned and built to the founders’ exacting standards. In recent years, Wright, Atkinson, and Smith passed on their vision, wisdom and dedication to the next generation, and they have continued the tradition to this day. St. James proudly remains North and South Carolina’s most successful coastal community.
