This certificate and the membership evidenced hereby are not transferable
except as provided in the bylaws of the Cooperative, and such membership may
be terminated as provided in said bylaws. Upon termination of the membership
represented by this certificate, by death, cessation of existence, expulsion or
withdrawal, this certificate shall be surrendered to the Cooperative. Each
member of the Cooperative, or in the case of a joint membership, the holders
thereof jointly, or either of them, but not both, shall be entitled to one (1) vote
and no more upon each matter submitted to a vote at all meetings of the

CONVENIENT BILL PAYING
GREEN POWER
• Bank Draft – Your checking account will automatically
be drafted on the date due each month for the amount of
your electric bill. Simple, convenient, safe and you’re
guaranteed that your bill will be paid on time. Each month you will still
receive a monthly statement showing electricity use and cost.
Horry Electric joins with Santee Cooper to offer Green
Power. The environmentally friendly program gives you
the opportunity to purchase electricity generated by renewable power sources.
• Online Payments – Bill payments are accepted at www.horryelectric.com
through MyEnergy Online.
• Conveniently Located Pay Stations – Pay your electric bill at local branch
locations of Conway National Bank, Anderson Brothers Bank and Horry
County State Bank. For the most up-to-date list of options, visit

• By Mail – Mail your check or money order to Horry Electric’s main
office in Conway.
• In the Office –You may pay directly at our offices in Conway and Socastee.

service or other utility lines may be present. If you’re not absolutely sure

OPERATION ROUND UP®
For only pennies a month or approximately $6 a year, by rounding
up your monthly electric bill, Horry Electric’s giving program
allows each member to help make a difference for those in our communities
who need it most. All new members are automatically included in Operation
Round Up when signing up for service. If you opt not to participate or if you
choose to discontinue your contributions at any time, simply contact us.
MOBILE APP
Horry Electric has made getting information about your power
bill a little easier. We have a free application for smart phones
that gives users fast, simple access to their accounts.
BRIGHT IDEAS
Horry Electric offers Bright Ideas, a grant program that provides
funding to teachers for innovative classroom-based education
projects.
ADVANCE PAY
Advance Pay works similar to a prepaid cellular phone. You put
money into your Advance Pay account and as you use electricity, the cost of
the usage will be deducted from your Advance Pay account balance daily.

Billing Insights allows you to
look at a comprehensive report of
your home’s energy use just by
inputting your account number.

Power Touch is our state-of-the art
outage management system that lets
members immediately report power
outages. When you call, your phone
number will be matched to your
name and address to ensure prompt
service.
Capital Credits are the only form of equity a member-owned
utility has. Each year, all revenue over and above expenses is
assigned by the Cooperative to each member’s Capital Credits Account.
The amount of your Capital Credits is determined by your yearly payments
for electricity.
WASHINGTON YOUTH TOUR
Every year Horry Electric Cooperative sponsors local high school
juniors on an all-expense paid trip to our nation’s capital. This
week-long tour gives students a chance to see our government in action
and experience the history of the United States firsthand.
SAFETY DEMONSTRATIONS
We regularly offer safety demonstrations to students and other
groups throughout our service area in an effort to teach important

H2O SELECT®
Receive up to a $250 rebate on your next water heater by
participating in the H2O Select program. To qualify, simply
replace your existing water heater with an electric water heating system
that meets Horry Electric’s standards. We’ll inspect the system and give you
money back.
WIRE
Women Involved In Rural Electrification (WIRE) is community
service at its best. The Horry Electric WIRE chapter is a volunteer
organization for women associated with the co-op. WIRE performs many
community service projects that support the cooperative and its community.
LOAD MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
SOUTH CAROLINA LIVING MAGAZINE
Members who allow Horry Electric to install a load management
device on a qualifying, minimum 50 gallon electric water heater, will get a one
time $50 electric bill credit.
Each month you will receive a South Carolina Living magazine
with special messages from the CEO and information on programs and events.
SURGE GUARD®
Surge Guard offers protection from power surges that can damage
appliances and electronics like TVs, computers and refrigerators.
