Convergence of storage devices To maintain diverse applications, enterprises have to purchase multiple types of storage products such as DAS products, FS SAN products, IP SAN products, and NAS products. The product diversity challenges enterprises on unified management, resource dispatching, and product compatibility, causing increased management cost and reduced system utilization. To address these challenges, Huawei offers the Virtual Intelligent Storage (VIS) product for unified management. The VIS system provides the ability to consolidate disparate storage platforms onto a single system while providing the flexibility to support the synchronous and asynchronous replication functions. The consolidated storage platform helps reduce management and maintenance costs, and the synchronous and asynchronous replication functions help handle enterprises' requirements for disaster recovery. 2.
