began working for Mario Tricoci in Chicago 10 years ago. Since
then she’s become a Future Professional Educator and an
Advance Skills Educator with the company. “I love color and
feel so incredibly blessed that I’ve found a career that resonates
with me,” says Jessica, who is a member of Cosmetologists
Chicago. Being open to change is key for this gifted colorist,
who is convinced that if you close yourself off you stop growing
and your art dies. Grateful for the mentors in her life, Jessica
believes that becoming an educator herself is a way to pay it
forward. “The meaning of life is to fnd your gift. The purpose of
life is to give it away,” she says, paraphrasing Pablo Picasso.

when he landed
a job as a stylist
at The Salon
in Ames, Iowa,
and began
working for a
tool company.
Three years
later he started
using Aloxxi

his hair artistry
truly kicked in.

across the United

U.S. Technical Creative Director at TIGI, so
we knew she had to have some serious hair
color chops. Based in New York City, Renee
is a TIGI Talent Colour Educator, which
means she travels all over the country
doing shows and platform work for the
company. Since starting her career in
Sydney, Australia, Renee has had her work
published in magazines like Oyster, Culture
and Hairdresser’s Journal. Now she can add
Te Colorist to her résumé.

Jackson Ruiz Salon in Austin,
Texas, where her boss is none
other than NAHA winner and
Aveda Global Artistic Director,
Hair Styling, Allen Ruiz. While
working at the salon, Sara
was a member of the winning
NAHA team of 2011, and has
worked onstage at Aveda’s
Tuff Love Miami and Aveda
Congress 2013. “Creating art
with hair color is my passion,”
she says. “I love helping
people feel confdent and
beautiful with fresh new color.”

has a pedigree most colorists would kill for—her Aunt Beth is none other
than legendary colorist Beth Minardi. “Growing up, we always talked
about fashion, art, books and hair color,” says Allesandra, who is also
inspired by her father, Salvatore Minardi, who owns an eponymous
salon in Madison, New Jersey, where she works. “He taught me to stay
humble because hair color is always evolving.” Her passion for hair color
may come naturally, but Alessandra understands that there is always
something else to learn. “I am intrigued by color formulations and new
methods of application,” she says. “When I color, I don’t go against the
hair, I go with it. I let it speak to me.” Sounds like she’s onto something.

been misplaced. “I’ve learned more than I could have imagined from Gerd,” says
Vanessa, who works at Hidden Hairpin in San Pedro, California. The payoff for being a
colorist? “To see how even a small change can make your clients so happy,” she says.

they need to achieve their
own goals. Tree days a
week she conducts training
sessions in cut and color,
spending afternoons and
weekends doing what she

hair color.

New York, where she is a
Goldwell Color Specialist
and Ambassador. “I love
the artistic freedom during
the coloring process that

techniques to your canvas,”
she says. “The possibilities
are endless.” Molly has been
lucky enough to work with
Goldwell’s John Simpson,
Rebecca Hiele, Nick Pagano
and Dimitrios Tsioumas.
