Salon of the Month Gould’s Salon and Spa a local favorite for over 80 years "I'm really picky about my hair, but I went to Gould's and she got my cut completely right," Lizzy Sanders said after visiting Gould's for the first time. "Usually I always have to fix my bangs upon returning from the salon, but this is the first time in years that I haven't had to fix them up!" By Maya Smith The salons have a combined total of more than 435 stylists dedicated to giving their clients the style, color and texture they desire. One of those dedicated stylists is Eunice Boddie. She’s been a stylist at Gould’s for over 60 years. “In my 62 years working here, I can honestly say I have done everything in my power to make sure every customer was satisfied,” Boddie said. “I’ve had nothing but wonderful clients.” Gould’s salon was started in 1932 by Sam Gould with the goal of creating a small, upscale hair salon with superior customer service and professionalism.” Phillip Gould, president and son of founder Son of Sam Gould said he aims to meet that original goal every day. “We try to provide a high-quality spa and salon to our customers,” Gould said. “We do that by creating a first class environment and only employing highly-trained, well-experienced, exceptionally skilled stylists, technicians etc.” Gould’s has been recognized as a superior salon and spa by several publications, including the Commercial Appeal, the Memphis Flyer, and At Home Tennessee magazine. Aside from providing the community with quality salon and spa services, Gould’s is also known for giving back to the community, in addition to encouraging its patrons to be as well. Gould’s partners with the non-profit, Locks of Love, encouraging customers to donate their hair to disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. From the latest trends to community service Gould’s Salon and Spa has been a local favorite for over 80 years.
