How to install a HID in a Nacelle
Secure bike in a clean, well light, level, and safe work
environment. Remove the ground strap from your battery.
* Test HID Hi/Lo by connecting the
three pronged plug to your old
headlight plug that you removed from
the Halogen/Filament bulb.
* Connect the bulb the only way that
it can go by plugging in all three
plugs on the HID light bulb, harness,
& the igniter. Do not attach to the
battery.
* The two little wires connected to the three pronged plug activate the movable low beam bulb
and shield forward.
* Hold the ground strap on the battery than turn on the headlight like you had done so before
starting this project.
* Switch from Hi to Lo beam using your Hi/Lo switch on your handlebars just as before.
* You should hear a clicking and the light bulb move, if not find the problem. Remove ground.
* Put the bulb into the lens and mount all into the nacelle
checking for clearance.
* Mount the ballast
securely making sure you
ground it. I used a piece
of aluminum and mounted
it to the front of the triple
trees. Make sure the
ballast is facing down for
water intrusion.
* Bolt in mounting securely; make sure you are using a lock tight
type product to prevent from coming loose while riding.
* Plug in all, attach all grounds, & run the red wire to the + side of
the battery. Tie wrap all wiring neatly & securely.
* Hold the ground strap on the battery than turn on the headlight
like you had done so before starting this project. Test the headlight & Hi/Lo.
* Remove the ground strap from your battery.
* Replace your nacelle & enjoy your new found right to own the night.
Yes, you can test it like this.
