2014-2015 Annual Program Brochure
Northfield Arts Guild
Northfield Arts Guild
Our Story . . .
In the mid-1950’s a handful of friends envisioned creating a place where the community
could make and share the arts. The Northfield Arts Guild was founded as a non-profit,
community-based arts center by 1959, offering classes, theatrical productions and
exhibitions.
Currently, the Arts Guild hosts 100+ annual art events and 45 weekly classes, owns two
buildings, serves as fiscal agent and business consultant for artists’ projects, and
participates in city planning initiatives. Last season well over 32,000 people were served
through Guild programs in dance, theater, music, literary and visual arts. And over
1,200 professional and emerging artists took advantage of our multiple income
opportunities, open studio space, art classes, business training, and leadership
opportunities.
Since its inception, the Arts Guild has offered classes for all ages and abilities in dance,
music, theater, and visual arts. Our current 25 teachers are certified art educators and/or
professional artists. Our class objectives are aligned with State Standards in the Arts. Last
year we offered 93+ classes involving 450 students. The Arts Guild also partners with
local senior centers and regional special education agencies to offer art programming.
Additionally, the Guild is a satellite for Minneapolis/St Paul art organizations offering
workshops in multiple mediums for emerging and professional artists.
We are very excited to announce our upcoming season! The juried gallery will have 10
exhibitions, including our three auxiliary galleries; all feature the work of regional artists.
The 411 acoustic music series and the Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra will present a
total of nine concerts. There will be five theater productions, plus many special events.
The amazing talent showcased and the welcoming atmosphere are a great combination for
a marvelous year. We look forward to seeing you.
Ann Mosey, Executive Director
