NOTICE TO MARINERS Please be advised that Osiris Projects will be carrying out marine survey operations in the Pentland Firth and areas around the Orkney Isles as shown in the images below. CANTICK HEAD C13010 – Orkneys 2013 Spring 2013 COSTA HEAD C13010 – Orkneys 2013 Spring 2013 WESTRAY SOUTH C13010 – Orkneys 2013 Spring 2013 Survey operations will commence early May and will continue for approximately 4-6 weeks, subject to weather delays. Survey works will be undertaken using the survey vessel MV Lia. The actual survey area will be selected based on the weather forecasts and sea conditions m/v LIA MV Lia is a purpose built aluminium catamaran. The vessel has dimensions of 15.0m by 5.8m and a shallow draft (1.0m). The vessel colour is predominantly white, with ‘SURVEY’ lettering in dark blue letters on both sides of the vessel. The vessel will operate during daylight hours only and will display the appropriate internationally recognised day shapes and lights during periods of reduced visibility Survey operations will involve towing survey equipment on and below the surface up to 400m behind the vessel. A wide berth is requested at all times as the vessel will be restricted in her ability to manoeuvre.
