engine with an extra-light, razor-sharp chassis. Here are the details:

The YZF-R1 is an astonishing and radical machine, from whichever angle
you look at it. Components formed by innovative manufacturing
processes and made from the highest-quality materials unite to produce
a no-compromise whole. With less weight, more power and sharper
handling, the new R1 is set to dominate the large-capacity supersport
market just like the landmark-making original did back in 1998.
The new R1 features bigger front brake discs – mounted on lighter wheels –
with radially mounted calipers. These calipers are mounted parallel to the
direction of discs rotation for unbeatable biting power. The R1 also uses
race-developed upside-down forks, with revised geometry for ultra-sharp
steering.
The aluminium truss-style swingarm – manufactured via a unique process
that allows designers to precisely vary thickness in different areas – delivers
increased rigidity while weighing no more than a racing component. And the
swingarm works with an all-new rear suspension system that features a cast
aluminium shock body and lightweight adjuster.
Also benefiting from race technology, the underseat exhaust system is
all-titanium – light, strong and gorgeous. The system’s compact design
improves ground clearance so the R1 can take advantage of the latest tyre
technology to reach extreme lean angles. The exhaust incorporates a new
featherweight version of Yamaha’s exclusive midrange-boosting EXUP valve.
Newly developed LCD instrument display keeps you fully informed, so you
can keep your concentration where it’s required – on the road ahead. The
dash is housed within the R1’s aggressively restyled fairing, which features
an ultra-modern and unmistakable headlight system. LED taillight combines
with the high-level end can to produce an unforgettable rear view.

DOHC, inline-four engine that offers incredible

digitally-controlled fuel injection and a

compact, lightweight motor is also truly flexible,

Our engineers developed the R6 from the inside out. Its ultra-compact
engine with tri-axes engine shafts has allowed us to centralise the
machine’s mass to offer you massively improved control. And the bike’s
long GP-style swingarm works superbly with the rear suspension system
to deliver superb traction and excellent feedback.
In the world of supersport motorcycling, stopping is every bit as important
as going, which is why the R6’s brakes feature technology developed in
World Championship racing. Each of the R6’s dual front brake calipers is
formed from a single casting, this complex technology offering extra rigidity
for awesome braking performance and dramatically improved feel.
The R6’s beautifully sculpted swingarm is produced using the same
revolutionary aluminium die-cast technology as the rear sub-frame. This
radical engineering solution allows engineers to vary the arm’s thickness to
deliver the ideal ratio of rigidity and flex for brilliant rider feedback and
superb handling, while also reducing weight to a minimum.
Yamaha R-series supersports bikes are easily identified by their aggressive
front-ends, the latest R6 adorned by its unmistakable four-beam Gatling
headlight system that supplies an immensely even flood of light to help you
to see the way ahead on even the darkest of nights.
