Addiction Surfboards
Louis Robert, founder of the ADDICTION Surfboards label in Canada, began as a skate manufacture, then
snowboard and finally turned to the world of surfing.
Passionate by the retro and authentic design, he managed in all those years of shaping from California to Europe, he
learned many different style along the road and fusion them to create this very distinct style of retro shape.
In love and passionate for artwork, tinted resin and pinstriping, Louis Robert and Renaud Cardinal decided to join
forces in 2000. The North American shaper moved to to UWL Workshop. worked or a few years and decided to
moved back to America where is roots belong...
UwL decided to continue the Addiction adventure, the workshop took the direction of the label. The line is developed,
fresh full of new models where the perfection for finishes are priority.
Louis Robert, fondateur du label ADDICTION surfboards au Canada, a commencé dans la fabrication du skate puis du
snowboard, et s’est ensuite tourné vers le monde du surf.
Passionné par ce qui est vieux et authentique, il a pendant toutes ses années de shape eu la chance de travailler de la
Californie é L’Europe, en completant ses compétences et son style tout au long de sa route.
Il a beaucoup expérimenté dans son shape du longboard au fish et autres rétros. Amoureux et passionnés des résines
teintées, de dérives oldshool et de shape Retro, Louis ROBERT et Renaud CARDINAL se rencontrent en 2000. Le shaper
nord américain intégre l’équipe de l’atelier UWL en 2005, mais le mal du pays se fera ressentir 1 an plus tard, Louis
décidera alors de regagner son Amérique du Nord.
UWL décide de continuer l’aventure ADDICTION surfboards en prenant la direction du label. De nouveaux modéles
apparraissent et des planches aux finish d’exceptions prennent naissances.

d´une planche légendaire de Bob
Simmons, pour tous les amoureux des
boards rétros voici le must, la rame est
incroyable, le takeoff est trop simple,
et le drive vous donne tout de suite de
l’allure.
«Vous ne passerez pas inaperçu à l’eau»
me disait Bob Cooper qui connaissait
bien ce modèle ayant tout appris du
shape avec Simmons, il se faisait à
l’époque en 10’ !
Shape : S deck, hull bottom shape with a
large simple concave and a twin fin.
Comment : This is our own inspiration of
the Bob Simmons project. The incredible
buoyancy of this model lets you take off like
a bullet, and the dris is insane ! This board
should be ridden 1’ shorter than your
normal board. The dimension are 23‘‘ wide
and 3’’ thick ! «no one can missed you in the
water with this board » told me Bob Cooper
who learned how to shape with Simmons.

petites vagues, ce modèle étonne
par sa tenue dans les vagues creuses.
On est proche du contrôle d´une
shortboard avec la facilité de surf
d´un longboard, l´encombrement
en moins.

Comment : The Heritage is a Mark Richard
inspired fish. Made for the smaller waves,
it is also incredibly good in hollow waves.
It has almost the same control than a
modern shortboard but with the confort of
big board. The Heritage must be surf 3 to 4’’
shorter than your regular shortboard.

Shape : Un simple concave suivi d´un
double sous le pied arrière canalisé par
le quattro.
Commentaire : Un fish très confortable
par son généreux outline, très
performant dans les petites conditions
du à son volume, et reste très maniable
grace à son système QUAD, pour plus
de vivacité, à essayer en version ´El
Diablo´.

Comment : The Disconnected quad is a
generous fish board for small to medium
waves. It is modern approch of the classic
fish with a quad set up. It can be customise

Shape : Large Hull bottom.
Commentaire : Voici un modèle Hull
bottom, une planche très ludique, qui
se surfe sur l´avant car le single fin
est grand, flexible et placé très haut.
Le surfeur est toujours en position de
prise de vitesse ´´down the line´´.
Cette planche permet de pousser
de longues courbes, des bottoms
interminables, rattrape les sections,
permet de gros cutback etc ....

Comment : Here is ou hull model, a very fun
board to surf, you surf this board a bit more
forward wich make the fin placement also
forward. It is a special template and very
flexible. It is for the surfer that is reaching
