Humphrey, Yukon 11 NOTES 12 NOTES 13 NOTES 14 Last year, 201 Oklahoma FFA chapters donated 511 animals and $9,737 in cash that produced 764,702 protein sticks. Can we get to 1 million protein sticks this year? Your 2016-17 state FFA officer team is challenging ALL 357 Oklahoma FFA chapters to donate to the Regional Food Bank’s Backpacks for Hungry Kids program by April 1, 2017. Same two options as last year: 1. Donate an Animal You can donate an animal at the Tulsa State Fair or the Oklahoma Youth Expo or by contacting Thad Doye, Oklahoma Farm Bureau, by phone at 405-255-5316 when your animal is ready. Your animal will be picked up and hauled to a designated processor at no cost to you. 2. Cents Makes Sense Let everyone in your community know that your chapter is adding 25 cents to each fundraising product sold to support the Backpacks for Hungry Kids program. For example, add 25 cents to each package of sausage sold. The extra 25 cents will be collected and sent as one check to Amanda Rosholt, Oklahoma Farming and Ranching Foundation, 2501 N Stiles, Oklahoma City, OK 73105. 100% of the proceeds from your animal or cash donation will be used to produce the nutritious meat sticks that are so vitally important to the backpacks that hungry Oklahoma kids take home to sustain them over the weekends. Every chapter participating between Aug. 1, 2016, and April 1, 2017, will be recognized during the 2017 State FFA Convention.
