Alexandria Kennedy started gymnastics at the age of
5. She grew up coached by Natalia Yurchenko who
installed a love of gymnastics in her that lasts until today. Alexandria has been amazingly successful. She
is rock solid on beam, in her 145 meet career she has
only had 3 falls on beam. Alexandria won first or second on floor and all around her entire level 8 season.
She is a two time level 8 regional qualifier, and three
time level 9 regional qualifier. She is also level 9
Pennsylvania State floor champion and level 9 Region
7 Regional floor champion. Her accomplishments include 2nd on floor and 2nd all around at level 8 states,
4th all around at level 9 states. At level 9 regionals,
she took 4th on vault and 4th on floor. Her favorite
part of gymnastics is performing for the audience at
meets, and being able to entertain her friends by doing backflips whenever and wherever they ask. Her
advice to young gymnasts, “Never let anyone stand in
the way of your dreams. Always believe in yourself.”
Shellee Rubino is the daughter of LVSA coaches
Greg and Lori. Born and raised in her family’s
gymnastics business, she didn’t start seriously
training with team until age 7 and has continued
with mom and dad as her coaches throughout her
career. By age 8 Shellee was the USAG Level
5 State Beam and 2nd in the State on Floor and
was 3rd AA. That same year, she scored out of
level 6, trained level 7, and became the USAIGC
National Beam and Floor Champion and 4th
in the nation AA. After selling their gym and
having a 5 year break, Shellee scored out of two
levels last year and is now training level 10. Her
favorite part? “Learning a Yurchenko with Coach
Greg in just 2 months”.
