Why Give Through
SCCP?
Each year the State Charitable Contributions
Program has over 1000 charitable organizations
available for employees to support through the
workplace giving campaign. The participants
in the campaign undergo a rigorous application
process that evaluates each application against
the highest standards of fiscal and ethical
accountability. This charity listing represents
the independent organizations and federations
of charities that were approved to participate by
the State Personnel Board of Georgia.
The campaign provides a convenient, simple and
trustworthy way to support the cause of your
choice. Together, we enrich our communities
and make a real impact on the world. Georgia’s
employees are looking forward and giving back
in a big way.
Visit WWW.GASCCP.ORG to pledge!
IT’S SIMPLE
• Everything you need to make an educated
decision is available online or through your
easily accessible local SCCP coordinator.
IT’S YOUR CHOICE
• Choose from over 1,300 eligible charities
covering health, welfare, environmental
and educational services.
• Charities are screened annually through a
rigorous application process which requires
tax forms, audits and administrative costs
below 25% of overall revenues.
• Select from payroll deduction or one-time
payment by check or credit card (online
only).
IT’S CONVENIENT
• Search through this document by charity
name or online at gasccp.org by keyword.
• Budget for next year’s contribution today –
deductions are for the 2015 calendar year.
IT’S EFFICIENT
• Overall administrative expenses are low
(12%) which is below what most charities
spend on fundraising and administrative
costs which saves them money too.
• No state money is used to run the SCCP
campaign.
• Charities receive quarterly payments from
SCCP which means they can spread their
money around the entire year.
IT’S TRADITION
• Established in 1982, employees have been
giving to SCCP for over 30 years.

Frequently Asked Questions
WHO CAN CONTRIBUTE?
All state employees are eligible to participate. Those not
eligible for payroll deduction may give by cash, check or
credit card.
HOW ARE CHARITIES APPROVED TO PARTICIPATE?
All charities listed in the SCCP Charity Directory must
apply annually and meet the campaign’s eligibility
criteria outlined in the rules that govern the program.
DO I NEED TO FILL OUT ANOTHER PLEDGE FORM FOR THIS The criteria that the charities must meet can be found
on our website at www.gasccp.org under the Charities
YEAR’S PLEDGE IF I HAVE GIVEN IN THE PAST?
Yes. A new form or online pledge must be completed every category.

SCCP charity.
WHO MANAGES SCCP? IS IT A UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN?
SCCP is managed by state employees. It is not a
United Way campaign. The fiscal agent for the SCCP
is EarthShare, a registered 501(c)(3). The campaign
is managed administratively out of the Department
of Administrative Services – Human Resources
Administration.
WHAT DO THE ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES GO TOWARDS?
Administrative expenses for SCCP were 12% for the
2014 annual campaign. Every effort is made to ensure
administrative expenses are kept to a minimum.
Administrative expenses include: personnel, marketing
materials, charity events and contract costs for fiscal
management. Gross expenses were reduced significantly
from 2013 to 2014 to compensate for reduction in
pledges.
•SCCP’s 12% administrative cost is lower than
most charities’ own fundraising and administrative
expenses, which they would otherwise incur to raise
and acknowledge these gifts directly.
•Charities receive a portion of all undesignated
contributions. [Each gift through the SCCP helps to
increase their proportionate share of undesignated
gifts.]
•State employees can often donate more generously
with the option of payroll deduction.
•They receive payments efficiently (quarterly) for all
SCCP donors without needing to invoice individual
donors.
•They are able to apply SCCP contributions toward
areas where they are needed the most, stretching
the value of their existing budget for programs and
services.
