NEWS (CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1)
while still small, biofuel liquids (ethanol & biodiesel)
jumped from 22.9 million gallons per year in 1996 to 92.2
million gallons in 2005, over 110 million gallons in 2006,
and new plants under construction correspond to 550 million annual gallons of capacity in 2007. The total capacity
of current, and under construction facilities that when they
become fully operational, the total capacity in Indiana will
be approximately 1.65 Billion gallons per year!
“VIVA LOS TIEMPOS” DEBUTS IN JULY:
The former publishers of the successful bilingual newspaper, “QUE PASA, INDIANA”, have another weekly publication coming to the area via the Times newspaper.
Lisette Guillen and her sister Lorraine Guillen-Wentz,
recently joined the Times to develop VIVA LOS TIEMPOS, providing news and advertising opportunities to the
area’s Hispanic community. Along with expert translation
provided by Maria Guillen, VIVA will be a weekly newspaper providing local, state, and national news, as well as
providing a calendar of events and personal profiles to the
area’s Hispanic population.
Good Luck to the Guillen Team and your new venture!
STATE’S IEDC REPORT REFLECTS THOUSANDS
OF NEW JOBS AND MAJOR INVESTMENT IN FIRST
HALF OF ’07:
The IEDC (Indiana Economic Development Corp) released numbers of new Hoosier jobs and investment
landed in Indiana so far this year at 78 competitive projects, 10,200 new jobs, and approx $2billion in new capital investment. These competitive projects represent companies choosing Indiana over competing states, thus creating new jobs as well as the influx of new capital investment to Indiana (note: BP’s $3Billion dollar project was
listed in 2006 by the State of Indiana, and not reflected in
these totals). The average wage of jobs committed to
Indiana so far in ’07 is $44,600, or approximately $21.45
per hour. This is nearly $5 an hour higher than the state’s
average of $16.10.
Noticias
fósiles son la fuente de energía predominante para Indiana;
proporciona noticias local, estatal, y noticias nacionales,
proyectos competitivos, 10.200 nuevos trabajos, y
aproximadamente $2billion en la nueva inversión de
capitales.
