The various types of beds
Divans – act as bases for mattresses and either have
springs or a solid top which provides firmer support.
Divans are available with drawers to provide additional
storage. Also available is our underbed storage style.
We can also make divans to any size you want, here
in our workshops. Just ask for details.
Bed frames – available in wood, metal or leather.
Available in all sizes: single, small double, double,
king size and super king.
Headboards – are of course an optional extra. Most
divans are sold without one so you have a more
flexible choice. Choose from our extensive selection
of headboards and fabrics.

A guide to
getting it
right
We spend roughly a third of our lives in bed, between six
and eight hours each night. So getting the right bed is so
important. And that’s what we’re here for. To help you
make the right choice at the right price.
This guide will help inform you on the choices that are
available. And please don’t hesitate to ask a member of
staff if you want further details about any bed or mattress.
Now – use the guide and go and lie down on a few beds
and see what feels best for you.
The various levels of
mattress firmness
1 Soft to Medium:
Ideal if you sleep on your side. It lets your
shoulders and hips sink into the mattress
while supporting the rest of your body.

2 Medium:
Open coil is a popular choice.
Separate springs are arranged in
rows and connected to one another
by a spiral wire. An outer rod
strengthens
the mattress.
Excellent if you sleep on your side,
but prefer a slightly firmer feel.
Pocket sprung is a luxurious
sleeping experience with the highest
level of support. Each spring is
contained in its own individual fabric
pocket. This enables the springs to
work independently of one another.
This offers unique support to the
body, preventing pressure points.
3 Medium to Firm:
Memory foam is a relatively new
type of material. It has a unique feel
and responds to your body
temperature and weight. It recovers
its original shape when the heat and
pressure is removed. Memory foam
is a combination of support and
comfort, with good pressure
relieving properties. Go on, try it
and see the recovery properties.
An excellent choice if you sleep on
your back or on your front with a
medium height pillow.
The ideal option if you change position
a lot and sleep on your side and your back.
4 Firm:

Single: 90 x 190cm (36’ x 75’)
Small double: 120 x 190cm (48’ x 75’)
Double: 135 x 190cm (54’ x 75’)
King size: 150 x 200cm (60’ x 78’)
Super king: 183 x 200cm (72’ x 78’)
