INVOICING AND TERMS
All products are billed upon delivery. Our terms are net 30 days
from the invoice date. DHD Tree Products will deliver products
ordered without requiring payment prior to delivery.
The Customer shall pay all invoices in full on or before 30 days from
the invoice date. In the event an invoice is not paid on or before the
due date, the Customer account may change to a pre-pay or C.O.D.
status.
Special Terms may apply to certain purchases and will be clearly
noted on all invoices.

Due to the commodity nature of many of our product ingredients, the
pricing can be volatile and is subject to change at anytime without
notice. DHD Tree Products does offer discounts based on various
manufacturer and company programs. These prices are protected for
the term of the offer.
PRODUCT RETURNS
DHD Tree Products will exchange product that is still in sellable
condition. This means the container cannot be opened and product
labeling must be attached and in excellent condition. The returned
product can be exchanged for other products offered by DHD Tree
Products. Delivery charges will apply to exchanges. DHD Tree
Products has sole discretion in determining when and if product can be
exchanged.
DHD Tree Products will deliver most orders out of warehouse free
of charge. Private carriers, UPS and FedEx are sometimes utilized
for some orders when required. The charges for these services are
added to the invoice.

When urea nitrogen is left untreated its greatest fate and most immediate loss,
sometimes in excess of 30% within days of the application, in through the air.
Additional nitrogen (up to 20% more) can be lost through leaching and
denitrification. Fertilizer with Regain NS controls the enzyme (urease) that
causes ammonia volatilization, keeping it from robbing valuable nitrogen from
the soil. By blocking or controlling the enzyme that causes nitrogen loss, more
nitrogen stays in the soil longer and more nitrogen is availalble to the plant for
uptake. With Regain NS you can use less nitrogen, get more nutrient in the
leaf tissue and save money.

Spring Valley has 2 state of the art computer controlled spreader trucks designed for broadcast fertilizer applications on golf courses,
athletic fields and other large turf areas. The spreaders have small light weight boxes and high flotation tires. They are equipped with a sonar unit and
computer to constantly adjust flow rate to ground speed; and a foam marker and GPS for accurate fertilizer applications.
Our drivers are experienced spreading on athletic fields and golf course fairways, roughs, and green and bunker surrounds. The spreader can be adjusted to
spread from as low as 50# per acre up to 8000# per acre. The maneuverability, accuracy and speed will amaze you; an 18 hole golf course only take about
90 minutes.

here is a continued debate regarding the difference between organic and synthetic fertilizers. The key to
answering this question lays in understanding the difference between nutrient and nutritional values. Based on
nutrient management, the plant can only utilize the ion form of the nutrient. However, there is a catch 22 that
differentiates synthetic from organic fertilizers. Traditional fertilizers are released mainly by a chemical reaction in the

Nature Safe 5-6-6 Starter Fertilizer is designed for the development of deep
healthy roots. This homogeneous, slow-release, non-burning fertilizer also

Humus is soil organic matter which has the ability to buffer plants against
high concentrations of salts. This product should be applied in spring and
fall during aeration to promote deep healthy roots. It is also recommended
to use this product when seeding, sprigging or overseeding.

Nature Safe 8-3-5 Stress Guard Fertilizer is formulated to give the end user

8-3-5 has various meat by-product meals which provide nitrogen that will
slowly release over a 7-8 week period. Carbohydrates in the form of simple

to improve Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), buffer the soil against extreme
salt concentrations and improve soil structure for tolerance during heat and
drought conditions. Nature Safe 8-3-5 is non-burning and very low in salt.

Nature Safe 10-0-8 All Season Fertilizer is formulated as a highly

protein meals which slowly release over a 7-8 week period. Nature Safe
10-0-8 is non-burning and very low in salt. Virtually all of the product is
utilized through complete plant uptake resulting in minimal leaching and
volatilization. Nature Safe acts as a sponge in retaining moisture and
nutrients for plant use, especially in sandy soils.

Coarse Grade
Nature Safe 21-3-7 combines the value, nutrition and efficiency of
Nature Safe Natural & Organic Fertilizers with the fertilizer efficiency of
stabilized nitrogen found in UFLEXX. The result is a turf and landscape
fertilizer with an emphasis on efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This is a
blended product with 60% Nature Safe (with Sulfate of Potash) and 40%
UFLEXX. The Nature Safe component is constructed of various pet
food grade proteins such as meat, bone and blood meals that provide
slow release nitrogen to the plant for 7-8 weeks. UFLEXX is a combination of urea, a urease inhibitor (NBPT) and a nitrification inhibitor
(dicyandiamide), which provides nitrogen over 6-8 weeks while reducing
nitrogen loss due to leaching, volatilization and denitrification. With a
SGN of 230, Nature Safe 21-3-7 is a low-cost alternative for fairway,
landscape and lawncare applications.

Nature Safe 12-2-6 Ammonium Sulfate Fortified Fertilizer is designed for use
when immediate color and growth is desired along with the natural release
of high quality proteins. It is ideal for high pH soils but also performs well on
all soil types. This product will jump start your turf in the spring and also
helps revive turf in the early fall after the hot summer stress periods. The
meat by-product meals within Nature Safe 12-2-6 make for a healthy soil
and in turn healthy turf. This product was also designed for multiple
applications during grow-in situations. The quick release nitrogen
encourages growth with timely applications. The slow-release organic
proteins and carbohydrates will build up a long lasting, slower feed for
development of healthy deep roots.
NATURE SAFE 15-0-8 w/ METH EX 40
Fine, Coarse Grade
Eighty percent of the product consists of Nature Safe Natural and
Organic Fertilizer. Nature Safe, through its high quality proteins will
begin to release in 7 to 10 days and will slowly release nitrogen for the
next 7 to 8 weeks. Twenty percent of Nature Safe 15-0-8 is composed
of methylene urea that is comprised of varying lengths of methylene urea
polymers with an emphasis on the shorter length, more soluble components. Through this combination, the methylene urea continuously
releases nitrogen through the 16th week after application. This product
combines the consistent and sustained feeding of methylene urea with
the efficiency of Nature Safe, providing optimum soil and plant nutrition.

TRUE FOLIARS
All foliars are liquids, but not all liquids are true foliars. In other words,
don’t confuse the method of application with how a plant metabolizes
the material applied. Remember that “just because you’re spraying it on
doesn’t mean you’re spraying it in.”
It has been known for many years that turfgrass plants are capable of
taking up nutrients through the leaf tissue. For example, in the morning,
under favorable environmental conditions, the stomates may be open
for nutrient entry. However, in the heat of the day, the stomatal guard
cells close to conserve moisture and protect the plant — this can solve
certain stress problems for the plant, but it effectively keeps out certain
larger molecules such as those found in humic acid materials. The much
smaller transcuticular pores are always open. They can be entry points
for nutrients if the nutrients are in a form that is acceptable to the plant.
In short, the molecules have to be small enough to pass through the
very small transcuticular pores, and they have to be neutral or negatively charged to get through the electro-chemical gradients of the plant and
to translocate within the leaf tissue and throughout the plant.
The value of True Foliar nutrition is considerable. First of all, True
Foliars allow small, efficient amounts of nutrition to be applied consistently. This keeps the plant healthy without stimulating excessive shoot
growth. Excessive shoot growth not only results in slow putting speeds,
it also expends plant energy and depletes stored carbohydrate reserves,
which can lead to premature senescence and death. Because True Foliar
nutrition does not deplete stored energy, that energy is available to support root growth, just when that support is most desperately needed.
Secondly, roots that are under stress don’t function well. Fertility programs that depend on root uptake are less effective in times of stress.
True Foliar applications bypass the roots by making nutrition directly
available to the plant through the leaf tissue.
Third, nutrients that enter the soil are subject to unpredictable chemical
transformations and may end up less useful to the turf as nutrition. Or,
they may be tied up and unavailable to the plant. True Foliar nutrition
avoids these problems.
Finally, True Foliar nutrition increases
metabolic activity in the leaf, which
increases photosynthesis and
chlorophyll production. The plant
then increases its uptake of water
from the soil. Because Emerald Isle

How Do Phosphites Work?
Over the last few years a considerable amount of confusion has arisen in relation to
fertilizers and chemicals containing this. Many of us are familiar with MAP and DAP
(mono and di- ammonium phosphate) and possibly even MKP (monopotassium
phosphate) all of which provide phosphorous derived from phosphoric acid (H3PO4).
Plants use phosphate in the form of HPO4 and H2PO4 which once applied to the soil is
rapidly converted from fertilizers.
In the USA products containing phosphorous acid (not phosphoric acid), phosphite (not
phosphate) and phosphonite/phosphonate have entered the vocabulary. But what are
these and what function do they play in turf management?
Phosphite is completely different in nature from phosphate. Chemically phosphate and
phosphite are similar, however phosphate has one more oxygen than phosphite and
this markedly changes the nature and reactivity of the resultant molecule. These three
oxygen molecules give phosphate formulations increased mobility in plant tissue and
soils so that they can be successfully applied to all areas of the plant.
Phosphite is directly fungistatic i.e. it slows the growth of the disease pathogen and
inhibits the formation of spores. This causes the release of stress metabolites
(chemicals) by the disease which are recognized by the plant as signals or elicitors
causing the plant to enhance its defense response.
Bayer realized this and introduced Aliette® and fosetyl aluminium. When the patent for
this expired in the USA, Agrichem created phosphite based fungicides such as phosphite with potassium.
Plants can absorb this compound through roots and leaves and once in the plant the
phosphorous acid compounds are very stable. However, plants are incapable of directly
using phosphorous acid as a nutrient source. Phosphorous acid compounds can break
down in the soil to available forms of P but this is a very slow process and does not
provide adequate P nutrition.
The primary difference between Agri-Fos and the Bayer product Aliette® is in the
source of their common active ingredient, the phosphite ion. Although both products
begin with a different composition, they are converted to the same active form. AgriFos begins as a unique mixture of phosphorous acid salts and is rapidly converted to
phosphite ions. Aliette begins as Aluminum tris (Oethyl phosphanate), and is converted
to a phosphorous acid, which finally becomes a phosphite ion. Once in the form of a
phosphite ion, fungi are attacked and both products strengthen and encourage the
plant’s own defenses.
During the past decade, Chipco Signature® fungicide (active ingredient fosetyl-Al)
became a “keystone” product for disease control programs on many golf courses
across the country. This is in part because of the general enhancement in quality on
stressed turfgrass that has been reported in some studies, including selected tests at
the University of Kentucky. The product is also known to provide control of Pythium
cottony blight in many circumstances, particularly when sequential applications are
made.
Fosetyl-Al is absorbed into the plant and converted to a phosphite (=phosphonate) ion
(PO3-). The phosphite ion is the chemical responsible for disease control. Applying
Stress Phiter accomplishes the same thing, only more efficiently because the phosphite
ion is directly introduced to the turf plant.
Results include excellent disease control particularly with Pythium blight and work
synergistically with other fungicides to prevent dollar spot, anthracnose, summer patch,
take-all patch and brown patch in bentgrass, kentucky bluegrass and weak biotypes of
Poa annua. In addition to disease control phosphites aid the plant in other factors
related to summer stresses including high temperature stress, excessively wet or
anaerobic soil, scald, wet wilt, shade and drought.

SuperCharged Bentgrass
Yellow Jacket is like having a sponge around each and every seed. Once
water is applied, the coating holds that moisture and other nutrients
around the seed - making them available as needed for germination and
establishment. Without coating, the water simply passes the seed
allowing it to dry out, resulting in more frequent watering and increased
expense.
This spongy layer has additional benefits as well. Yellow Jacket coating
increases the density of very light and fluffy bentgrass seed. This makes
seeding easier, more accurate and also allows for a more uniform
distribution pattern when applied with a seed spreader. Seed stays
where it falls due to the extra weight and size. When overseeded, the
coated seed will move down in the turf faster and easier. Another
tremendous benefit is that Yellow Jacket coated bentgrass is not as
prone to disease as uncoated seed.
All these benefits are due in large part to a key component of Yellow
Jacket - Zeba©, a super absorbent technology that can hold 600 times its
own weight in water. University trials show that Zeba can absorb and
hold fungicides and protect seedlings up to three weeks after seeding.
Fungicide on uncoated seed washes off quickly limiting their benefit.
The Yellow Jacket formulation also contains Apron© (metalaxyl), a
fungicide to prevent Pythium infestation in newly seeded areas.
Research trials at the University of New Mexico show that seed coated

Rutgers University that has a broad genetic base. Parent plants were
collected from older greens on high stress golf courses in northeast
USA. This new improved variety is well adapted for use on greens, tees,
fairways, as well as overseeding conversions.
007 adapts well to low mowing on greens and reduced fungicide management on fairways and tees. If you like L-93 the new 007 is even better. It has enhanced dollar spot resistance and superior turf quality that
includes bright green color, excellent winter color, no purpling and vigorous, uniform, moderately dense growth.
MACKENZIE

MacKenzie creeping bentgrass was developed in line with the demands
of the modern golf course superintendent who has to blend the classical
aspects of the game with the contemporary surface. MacKenzie was
selected for use in reduced fertility, low air movement and reduced fungicide requirements.
MacKenzie has the density required for low heights of cut on greens,
especially at reduced fertility rates with more aggressive lateral growth
needed for fairways. In addition it has excellent ball mark recovery as
well as high resistance to dollar spot, brown patch and Fusarium Patch.

SR1119 is another winner in the line of bentgrasses developed by Seed
Research of Oregon. This exciting variety is the result of nine years of
extensive testing and evaluation. SR1119 was developed from the original Providence germplasm collection that was started in the 1960's. The
five clones were selected as the parent material for SR1119 showed
excellent Dollar Spot resistance, uniform color and texture, and were of
excellent turf quality. Due to SR1119's lower fertility requirements and
excellent disease resistance, maintenance inputs are greatly reduced.
