points: Le Col du Festre, La Joue du Loup and Superdévoluy.

Open to all ability levels, our Nordic ski area

beginners' route with figurines, slaloms,
springboards, small obstacles, ski hockey, laser
or sponge ball biathlon...
Suitable for all ages, as long as you stick to the

prevalent in limestone areas, known as the "Chourums". They are

These are natural cavities found in limestone regions. They are very popular
and highly prized by caving enthusiasts. Le Dévoluy has 585; the deepest of
which, the Rama Aiguilles, reaches a depth of 980 metres.
LES CLAPIERS
“In Le Dévoluy we do not know what they sow, but each year they
harvest stones”. The “clapiers” are small piles of stones accumulated over
time to free up farmable land.
Cultural Heritage
MÈRE-ÉGLISE
This is one of the oldest chapels in the Hautes-Alpes, built by the Clusien
monks and witness to the implementation of monastic life in mountain
environments. Mère-Eglise became a historic monument in 1927. Each
summer, its stones vibrate from the sounds of the violin played by musicians
from all backgrounds. Guided visits and opening of the church are offered
during the months of July and August.
THEMED ROUTES
The heritage trail between Le Dévoluy and Champsaur, the lavender route,
the fruit and wines route, Napoléon’s Route... and the many thematic
routes of the Hautes-Alpes will lead you to discover the history, culture, art
and traditions of the area.
Rediscover the Heritage Route, Mère-Eglise, the lamb route, the taste
of local produce, caving, climbing, walks along the riverside, the fauna,
the flora and so much more... all available on the themed fact sheets
from the Tourist Offices.
The Dévoluy locals have always worked the land and are above all sheep
farmers. The area has over 26 000 sheep. Agriculture plays a major role in
the economy (17% of the working population).
