THE HISTORY
BOYS
Called “One of the finest plays Alan Bennett has ever written” by the Daily
Telegraph, The History Boys opened at the National Theatre in 2004 to rave
reviews and a sell-out run and went on to become one of their biggest ever
hits, winning over 30 major awards including the Olivier and Tony Awards
for Best New Play. In a recent national survey this comic masterpiece was
voted the nation’s favourite play.
Set in the 1980s, The History Boys is the story of a group of bright, funny
and unruly sixth-formers in pursuit of sex, sport and a place at university.
Staffroom rivalry and the anarchy of adolescence overflow, provoking
insistent questions about history and how you teach it. Their A Levels may
be over, but their true education is only just beginning.
This brand new production from the producers of Avenue Q UK Tour is
an hilariously funny and exceptionally moving play about the true purpose
of education. This national treasure has proved to be the perfect night at
the theatre.
Alan Bennett’s numerous plays include Enjoy, The Madness of George III,
Single Spies, Talking Heads and The Lady in the Van.

In Joe and Kate Keller’s family garden, an apple tree – a memorial to

storm. But his loss is not the only part of the family’s past they can’t put
behind them. Not everybody’s forgotten the court case that put Joe’s
partner in jail, or the cracked engine heads his factory produced which
caused it and dropped twenty-one pilots out of the sky…
All My Sons is a moving, powerful drama of the ethics of profiteering
and family, and the first great play from one of the finest playwrights
of the twentieth century.

INFORMATION
BOOKING
INFORMATION:
You may reserve tickets without payment
for 3 days (but not within 3 days of the
performance) if you are a Kings Card holder.
Tickets will be held for collection from the
Box Office if booked and paid for within 5
days of the performance.
Boxes will usually be released for sale
1 week before the performance date.
Always check your tickets for the start time
and to ensure you have the right
performance. Latecomers will be admitted
at a suitable point but it may not be
possible to seat you in your allocated
seat until the interval. Some shows do
not admit latecomers – this is stated by
the performance.
All details are correct at time of print.
Times, prices, cast may change due to
unavoidable cause.
Please see our website for full
terms and conditions of tickets
and accessibility information
or call the Box Office on
023 9282 8282.
CONCESSIONS
& PARENTAL
GUIDANCE:
Please refer to the performance you wish
to attend for available concessions – you
may be asked for proof of entitlement
to concessions.
Children pay full rate unless a concession
rate is stated or a ‘Babes in Arms’
concession may be stated which allows
under 2 year olds to sit on an adult’s lap for
£1. (not available to book online)
Any age restrictions for performances are
stated - please check before making a
booking. Children aged 12 or under must be
accompanied by someone over the age of
16. Children aged between 13 and 16 may
attend unaccompanied but must make their
presence known to staff on arrival.
No responsibility is accepted by the Kings
Theatre Trust or any of its employees for
unaccompanied children.
Please contact the Box Office for details
of carer concessions.
PAYMENT & FEES:
We accept the following methods
of payment:
Cash
*Debit/Credit Cards
Visa/Master/Maestro
(*A 6% transaction fee will be added, capped
at £10 for telephone bookings. No transaction
fee if buying in person at the Box Office)
Kings Theatre Gift Vouchers

Edwardian Theatre and add a voluntary
donation to your booking.
As of 1st August 2013 we no longer accept
National Theatre tokens.
Group Bookings:
Discounts are available for groups of 20
people or more on the majority of our shows.
Reservations can be made via the group
booking line, 023 9285 2232
and email [email protected],
Monday – Friday, 9am -5pm. Or call into
the Box Office.

the methods above or by BACS or cheque.
These payment methods are only available
on group bookings. A 3% transaction fee is
added to all group bookings.
ENJOY THE SHOW!
If your performance falls outside of our
normal opening hours, the Box Office will
open 90 minutes before and remain open for
30 minutes beyond the show start time.
We have a number of bars where you can
purchase hot and cold refreshments which
open one hour before the performance start
time. You may also order your interval drinks
on arrival. Only alcohol purchased on the
premises may be consumed and can’t be
taken outside the building. Glasses and glass
bottles can’t be taken into the auditorium
but we can provide plastic glasses.
ACCESSIBILITY
The Kings Theatre is committed to improving
accessibility for all of our patrons. We have
wheelchair and level access via the Albert
Road entrance and provide wheelchair
spaces in the Stalls area. The accessible
Matcham Bar and toilet are located at the
rear of the Stalls.
You may transfer from a wheelchair to a
seat on arrival as long as in the unlikely
event of an emergency you are able to exit
the building without the use of a wheelchair.
Unfortunately the theatre cannot provide
access for mobility scooters – for those
wishing to travel to the theatre in a mobility
scooter these would need to be left outside
the building.
Infra-red hearing systems are available for
Front Stalls and Dress Circle areas, for those
using a T position hearing aid or with
provided earpiece for performances with
amplified sound.
Enjoy the Show!
