Freedom for the tongue!
Freedom for the tongue! The flattest brackets on the market for best patient comfort. Freedom for the tongue! When using Forestadent’s new 2D® lingual brackets, the tongue of your patient can keep its habitual space. Because tongues – especially the cheeky ones – need its freedom! They are extremely flat, comfortable and thanks to its uncomplicated technique ideally suited for clinicians who would like to enter the field of lingual orthodontics – the new 2D® lingual brackets by Forestadent. Easy to handle, reasonably priced and no lab costs. This bracket system is a cost effective way to introduce lingual orthodontics into any practice. 1,3 mm The flattest bracket in the world The new 2D® lingual bracket has a total thickness of 1.3 to 1.65 mm. In combination with its round edges and smooth surfaces it is the number one bracket in terms of patient comfort. Easy to use 2D® lingual brackets are easy to use self ligating brackets with a vertical slot for fast and easy archwire insertion. The archwire is inserted from the occlusal aspect into the special self ligating clips, which assure a better wire control and easy opening. Best patient comfort When using the new 2D® lingual brackets, your patient will not be effected by impairments in eating or speaking. Your patient can speak and eat immediately after insertion of the appliance without any noticeable difference in speech. Excellent biomechanics The bracket is bonded close to the centre of resistance and therefore offers excellent biomechanics for tipping and rotating teeth. The first treatment phase can be achieved remarkably fast. 2 Bracket variants 2D® Lingual Brackets are available in twelve different variants. This allows you to manage virtually every clinical situation. One differentiates between the following design characteristics. 1,65 mm • The 2D® Lingual Bracket with T-hook for attaching elastic chains. • 2D® Plus Lingual Brackets for applying torque to individual teeth. • 2D® Lingual Brackets with gingival hook for mounting intermaxillary bands and other auxiliaries. • 2D® Large Twin Brackets are designed extra wide and ensure better rotation control. • 2D® Mini Ants are especially narrow and can therefore be used early on in crowding. • The 2D® molar tube. Ultra-flat for greater patient comfort during lingual use. 3 BioLingual® archwires and Memory Maker FORESTADENT BioLingual® nickel-titanium archwires were developed specifically for lingual treatment. They are of mushroom-shaped design and are available in six different shapes in four sizes each (.010“, .012“, .014“ and .016“). BioLingual® archwires are thermo-active and develop their optimal force at body temperature, for example, the established BioStarter® or BioTorque® archwires. The FORESTADENT Memory Maker allows you to program the ultra-elastic memory form of nickel-titanium wires, for example, FORESTADENT Titanol®, or to modify an already programmed memory form. This lets you prepare the archwire optimally for individual treatment. Indirect Bonding Closing of the clip The 2D® lingual bracket can be bonded directly or indirectly. The 2D® lingual bracket can easily be closed by using a Weingart ultra lightwire plier or a band removing plier. Easy opening of the clip The 2D® lingual bracket is easy to open. Just slide the special explorer between clip and bracket base and open the clip by lever movement. 4 2D Lingual-Brackets – the lingual brackets for simple cases Clinical cases Case 1: Dr. A.
