The UAPICBC is governed by a cooperative business and union
committee that supports opportunities in employment, for
successful students completing our programmes.
There are a number of financial aid opportunities:
We are PCTIA (Private Career Training Institutes Agency)
accredited and ITA (Industry Training Authority) designated, to
offer piping trades apprenticeship training in the following
disciplines:
• Piping Foundation
• Plumbing levels 1, 2, 3 and 4
• Sprinklerfitting levels 1, 2, 3 and 4
• Steamfitting levels 1, 2, 3 and 4

This final level of technical training has substantial coverage of
gasfitting as well as final preparation for the Inter-Provincial
Red Seal exam.
Steamfitter LEVEL 1
Training consists of learning the basics of the plumbing trade
with an emphasis on safety.

Steamfitter LEVEL 2
This stage of technical training exposes students to
intermediate technical aspects of the trade. Drafting and
systems process is a strong focus, in addition to many
practical shop projects.

Steamfitter LEVEL 3
Past the half-way point in your apprenticeship, this level of
technical training focuses on steam systems, fluid, power and
supply systems.

Does working on large industrial projects or maintaining boiler
and comfort systems interest you?
Steamfitting is a
multi-faceted trade, encompassing a wide array of
responsibilities over an even wider range of working
environments. From fabrication shops, to ship yards, through
to pulp mills, and water treatment plants, right up to oil
refineries, and even nuclear power plants -- steamfitting has it
all! There are four levels of technical training for the
steamfitting apprenticeship. The program will be delivered in a
variety of formats combining in-school and work-based
training, all designed to meet the competency standards and
profile as defined by the industry.
