ST. JOHN’S-RAVENSCOURT SCHOOL OFFERS
LOWERED TUITION FOR NEW FAMILIES
WINNIPEG—Families wishing to place their child(ren) in one of Canada’s top independent schools can now
take advantage of a new financial aid program at St. John’s-Ravenscourt School (SJR).
“The Board of Governors is acutely aware of the financial pressures that parents face today. By offering the Red
River Scholars Fund to prospective new students, we aim to alleviate the financial barrier for those students
who show tremendous academic potential.” said Sean Lawton, Chair, Board of Governors at SJR. “Our goal is
to attract the best well-rounded students who love to learn and who bring other exceptional talents to the School,
whether in athletics, music, debating or in any one of our other enriched extra-curricular programs.”
In the past, students applying for financial aid could receive up to 50% reduction in tuition. With the Red River
Scholars Fund, SJR now offers new applicants entering grades 9–12 a reduction of up to 75% off the cost of
tuition. Qualifying families would pay less than $5,000 per year to receive an education from one of the most
highly-regarded schools in the country.
Paul Prieur, Director of Admissions and Marketing, explained that “we are looking for students who want to
continue their studies at the university level and have demonstrated a commitment to achieving their goals,
whether they are academic, athletic or artistic…we are looking for that special student who is seeking a
challenge and is willing to put in the time and effort it takes to reach their goals.”
By sending your child(ren) to SJR, you are truly investing in their future and the results and rewards of that will
be evident upon graduation. Over the past 10 years, 97% of our graduates have entered university directly upon
graduating and have been admitted into their first choice of universities, often attending top tiered universities
across Canada, United States and Internationally. On average, over $1,000,000 worth of scholarships and
financial awards are offered to SJR graduates each year, which equates to over $12,000 per graduating student.
Many of our alumni go on to excel in their chosen fields and become leaders in politics, business, medicine and
society.
