Assist to maintain quality culture in the college and tried to create student centric environment . Access to large number of e-books and e-journals through ‘INFLIBNET’ facility. Slow and Advanced learners batches are run. ICT enabled teaching methods are used e.g. use of LCD Projector, Laptop, Internet connection, Power Point Presentation etc. The students are encouraged to use computer software packages for experimental and theoretical purposes. Field work, study tours and industrial visits are arranged. Remedial coaching classes are arranged in case of difficult subjects. Special efforts to bridge the gap between Slow and advanced learner through slow and advance learner batches. Departmental library facility is available Academic calendar is followed strictly by the college. Paper wise annual teaching plan is prepared at the beginning of academic year and is followed . Departmental meetings are held regularly Lecture notes are prepared for every lecture by the faculty. Guidance for Competitive Examination : We have been conducting residential coaching for girls in summer vacation for preparation of various Competitive Examinations. Soft skill development programs are arranged for final year students. An hour before the actual examination starts Question Papers for B. Sc. B.Com and B.C.A. classes are uploaded on link provided by the University. One of the senior faculty members from the college is appointed as College Examination Officer (CEO). Passwords for question papers are sent through SMS on Principal’s and CEO’s mobile for downloading and printing by the university examination department. Midterm and internal examination are conducted Evaluation methods are communicated to the students in advance. Assessment, moderation system for the comprehensive evaluation of examination is done at central assessment program at university level. College follows the same method for the first year answer sheet evaluation. Extends necessary infrastructure and motivation to implement new methods of teaching. Performance of the newly recruited is evaluated by observing lectures by senior faculty members and suggestions are made if necessary. Faculty is motivated to apply for major / minor research projects to various funding agencies. The departments are encouraged to submit proposals for seminars and conferences to various funding agencies. Academic calendar is prepared by the college and is followed for its entire academic process. Faculty members are encouraged to achieve Ph.D. degrees. They are also advised to apply for Ph.D. research guide ship. We have constituted a Research Advisory Committee (RAC) to facilitate research in the college. Its main objective is to screen the new research proposals of the faculty and to suggest the necessary changes in it and also to monitor the on-going research projects and evaluate the completed research projects. Committee makes sincere efforts to obtain maximum grant from the funding agencies like BCUD, UGC, FIST through DST. These grants have proved to be instrumental in the development and up gradation of the laboratory facilities i.e. advanced equipments, library books, research journals, audio-visual equipments, computers and softwares etc. The college conducts academic programs to inculcate the research culture and scientific temperament among the students. The students are motivated to participate in the seminars, conferences, and to visit the reputed research laboratories etc. In the science program, final year students have to undertake the project work individually or in a group and submit their project reports in the final semester. Electronic Excellence Examination 2015 organized by Society for Promotion of Excellence in Electronics Discipline (SPEED) was conducted in the department of Electronic Science on Monday, 2nd February 2015 . SPPU, Pune has approved the Research centre in chemistry. Two day National level seminar was organized on the “ Role of Library and Information Science in the Development of Society’ on 10th and 11th April 2015. The extension activities like tree plantation, Blood Donation Camp, Police Mitra, Campus beautification etc. were organized. Department of chemistry has provided soil and water analysis facility to nearby farmers. Alumni association contribute in the development of the college by participating in the various activities. Parent Teacher Scheme helps to solve the problems of students. NCC cadets participate as a volunteer in the Palkhi Sohala of Saint Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram. Students participate in the “AVISHKAR” activity which is run by the SPPU Pune. The visits of PG students to reputed laboratories like NCL ISCER etc. was organized. Eight day “Yoga Arogya Camp” was conducted for girls. Total 76 students participated in the camp. In the tenure of camp various lectures on basic Yoga, basic stretching, pranyanam, meditation, diet, women health problems and remedies on it, were organized. Self defense camp with demonstration of judo and karate was organized for the girl students. Cell for anti sexual harassment of female students exists The college prospectus is published annually. The information with regards the subjects offered, infrastructure, fee structure, availability of courses and scholarships, disciplinary and anti-raging rules and the highlighting features of the college is disseminated to students through prospectus. Workshop on preparation for NET/SET examination was organized. Our faculty members also have worked as a member of short term courses syllabus committee formed by Karmveer Vidhya Prabhodhini, Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara. 6.3.2 Teaching and Learning ICT enabled teaching Extra efforts are taken for slow learners Along with the lecture method a group discussion, question answers, seminar etc. methods are used. Choice based credit system initiated at PG level. To support lecture method charts, diagrams, models, slides, specimens are used. Visits to various places such as industries, research centers (i.e. study tours) are arranged. The internal evaluation results are communicated to student by respective subject teachers. The performance of the student is also discussed by class teachers with parents. Slow learners and advanced learners batches are formed according to the students’ performance in the previous examinations. The students having poor performance in previous examination are grouped into a slow learner’s batch. The students are supported by the subject teachers in order to help them to cope up with academic progress. Through Parent-Teacher scheme the students are helped and guided by the teacher in- charge. 6.3.4 Research and Development The teachers are encouraged for active participation in research by submitting the major and minor research proposals for the funding ,participation and presentation of their research work at conferences, workshops and in seminars.
