20th Annual Lemon Festival in Goleta
The California Lemon Festival in Goleta is preparing
to celebrate its 20th year of fabulous lemon food, local
entertainment and family fun. This great community event will
be held on Saturday, October 15th from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
and Sunday, October 16th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Girsh
Park. MarBorg Industries is pleased to be the presenting
sponsor of the Lemon Festival.
Goleta has been known for celebrating its culture and
community since 1949, from the street festival known as
Magnolia Days, to the week long celebration known as
Goleta Valley Days, and we are now celebrating the 20th
Anniversary of the Goleta Lemon Festival! The Lemon Festival
offers a host of food booths, sponsored by community
organizations and local restaurants. Lemon-flavored chicken,
sherbet and cotton candy are among a few of the treats with
freshly made lemon meringue pies and lemon bars as crowd
favorites. Other ethnic and cultural foods are available for
those on lemon overload.
Activities and entertainment for every age are also available.
Adults can enjoy the freshly brewed lemon-flavored beer
and tour the local craft booths. Families can make their own
craft projects, take a swing at miniature golf, and play in the
bounce house.
Continuous live entertainment by local musical groups and
dancers fill the air as a compliment to the fresh aroma of
crisp, freshly cut lemons. The sounds and smells extend
across to the adjacent lot where you can find the Fall Classic
Car and Street Rod Show. With scores of cars on display,
this show is guaranteed to spark the curiosity of the young
and old alike.
The organization and support of the Chamber has
been key in keeping this festival going, however,
it is the countless volunteers that have made this
festival what it is today. The festival could not operate
without a number of student volunteers. Students
help with everything from set up to slicing pieces
of pie. If you are interested in being a volunteer visit

Be sure to grab your family and friends and celebrate
the historic Goleta lemon at the 2011 California
Lemon Festival in Girsh Park. After all, there’s only
one time a year you can get lemon meringue pie from
Anna’s Bakery, lemon ice cream from McConnell’s
and Lemon Ale from Hollister Brewing Company,
so don’t miss it!

Don’t Block the Box!
For those of you with curbside collection service,
especially in automated service areas, MarBorg
appreciates your efforts to bring your collection carts
to the curb for pickup. We would just like to remind
you to leave enough room around your mailbox so
the Post Office can deliver your mail.
For automated service, please also remember to
place your carts at least one foot apart, with the
handles facing your house. Make sure your cart lids
fully close – don’t overfill the containers. If you have
any questions about the proper placement of your
carts, please contact us or the USPS.
Thank you for your cooperation!
