World Video Bible School ®®
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to our catalog. We appreciate your interest in God’s inspired word and hope the study material offered inside will be of help in
your preparation for eternity. The primary aim of World Video Bible School® (WVBS) is to provide the church with tools so she can better train
the faithful who will, in turn, teach God’s word to others (2 Tim 2:2).
Our curriculum began with the concept of putting a school of preaching on video for brethren around the world to use. We have detailed
DVD courses on every book in the Bible, as well as a host of Bible related topics. Though the curriculum is solid enough to train elders and
preachers the classes are also ideal for individual and congregational use. Complicated terms are explained and made easy to understand.
Difficult passages are treated thoroughly. And, since most lessons are in a 38-minute format, they fit perfectly into a congregational Bible
class setting (or a home Bible study).
The trustees, teachers and staff of WVBS are faithful and biblically sound Christians. The recorded lessons stress pure, sound doctrine based
on an accurate exegesis of the biblical text. We strive to ensure all instruction is free from any doctrines, customs or commandments of men
because, according to the Savior, they make our worship vain (Matt 15:9). And we take very seriously God’s command that we neither add to
nor take away from His inspired word, being aware of the severe eternal penalty for violating this prohibition (Rev 22:18,19).
We try to keep prices as low as possible so the material is accessible to the widest audience. In fact, pricing is far below actual production
costs. Consequently, we must depend on contributions from concerned Christians to pay salaries and as many operating expenses as possible.
Through their generous help God has blessed us to offer more and more high quality study material. Please continue to remember us,
especially in your prayers, as together we labor in the Lord’s vineyard where fields are white unto harvest but workers very few.
GENERAL INFORMATION
TESTS AND ANSWERS ON CD-ROM
God has blessed WVBS to be able to ship out over 1,300,000 tapes/
DVDs around the world. We invite you to compare our soundness of
teaching, quality of production and commitment to low prices.
The materials are on DVDs and are individually labeled and shipped
in plastic cases. Most courses consist of lessons that are normally 38
minutes each. Usually each DVD has 3 lessons; however, the final DVD
in some courses may have only 1 or 2 lessons depending on the number
of lessons in the course. WVBS DVDs, audio CDs and notebooks are
copyrighted © World Video Bible School®.
Audio CDs and MP3s are offered on many courses. Now you can
study the Bible while you drive, walk or even clean the house. The
lessons are taken directly from the video masters and each CD contains
two 38-minute lessons (for most courses). If CDs are available they
will be indicated in the course description. Some courses are also
available in MP3 format (see page 24 for a list).
Most courses have tests available in printed form. THESE ARE
AVAILABLE ONLY TO PREACHER TRAINING OR BIBLE SCHOOLS.
Blank tests along with their answers are available on one CD-ROM.
This includes all the tests for VBI courses as well as many other
courses offered by WVBS. The material on the CD is in Adobe Acrobat
(PDF) format. The reader necessary to view these files is included on
the CD. Every test on the CD can be read on your computer screen
and can be printed out if you desire a hardcopy.
The cost, including shipping and handing, is $25. This CD is
made up of copyrighted material. THIS CD IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO
PREACHER TRAINING OR BIBLE SCHOOLS.

SHIPPING INFORMATION
Orders within the United States will be sent by library mail unless
expedited shipping is requested and paid by the customer. Orders
outside the United States will be sent by economy mail unless airmail
is requested and the additional cost paid by the customer. Packages
sent overseas via international mail can take anywhere from 2 weeks
to 6 months to arrive. If you order DVDs to carry on a trip overseas
please place the order as far in advance as possible. Due to the volume
of orders some DVDs are produced after the order is received which
can add a delay. Also, there may be other orders ahead of yours.
Last minute or rush orders will be handled as timely as circumstances
permit. Remember, the earlier you order the better your chances are
of getting the DVDs in time for your trip.
BOOKS AND NOTEBOOKS
Study notes are available for many courses. All notes are bound
with plastic combs and listed as notebooks within each applicable
course description along with the price. Also, certain courses have
additional textbooks available. Book prices vary and are indicated
where applicable. All notebook and book prices in this catalog include
shipping and handling.

School®. However, permission is granted to all customers to make
and distribute copies of WVBS notebooks as needed, provided copies
are not produced for resale and provided that proper credit is given.
Permission to reproduce notebooks applies only to notebooks having
a World Video Bible School® cover on them.
COURSE NOTES BY EMAIL
All of the course notes that are offered on the Course Notes CDROM (inside cover) can be ordered individually and sent to you as
an attachment in e-mail. The price for the e-mail notes is half of the
price of the notebook for that course. While the price is reduced from
the printed notebooks, purchasing the entire set of course notes on
CD-ROM is still more economical in the long run.

COURSES FOR CREDIT
WVBS provides materials for a correspondence school called
the Video Bible Institute for the student who wants a focused,
organized, detailed plan of study. This includes memory work, term
papers and written tests that are sent to VBI for grading. As a student
you may take as many or as few courses as you choose. A special
certificate will be issued for each course successfully passed.
There is no special educational background required to enroll in
the Video Bible Institute. All you need is the desire to know God’s
Word better and the determination to complete the courses. People
from all walks of life are currently enrolled--from preachers to lawenforcement officers to housewives. Why not join these sincere
seekers and increase your knowledge of God’s Word?
There is also a special program for those men who wish to
train to be preachers. The order in which courses are to be taken
is prescribed and is designed around a Preacher Training School
curriculum. A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of
each course. When all required courses are successfully completed a
certificate of graduation is awarded.

CHURCH SCHOOLS
Do you want the members of your congregation to know the
scriptures better? A good way to do this is to provide in-depth Bible
courses to your congregation. Start your own school using Video
Bible Institute courses. All you have to do is coordinate the class
periods. VBI will do the teaching (through the DVDs) and the grading

great filmstrips of the past that did so much good in teaching
the Gospel. It is hosted by John Moore and is designed

These study guides are a great resource, either as an accompaniment to the Searching for Truth
DVDs, or used on their own as a workbook. The material, written by John Moore, is suitable
for use in any Bible class setting, or given to family, friends, and co-workers. The text follows
the same chapter structure and is nearly a word-for-word transcript of the DVD. The Spanish
study guide follows the subtitles on the Spanish Searching for Truth (Buscando la Verdad) DVD.
The study guides include extended question sections, including a “Section Review” after each
section and a “Chapter Review” at the end of each chapter. To close-out the chapter there is a
“Digging Deeper” section, which includes additional verses on the subject matter that are not

With the multitude of religious groups in
the world, an obvious question is, “Can
we identify today the church that Christ
established?” This poster teaches the viewer
about the origin for many of the world’s
denominations, and how the Lord’s church
can be found today.
There exists today much confusion about the
Afterlife, Judgment Day, and the false doctrine of
Premillenialism. The pivotal question, “Where
do we go when we die?” is visually answered
in this poster, from the “great gulf ” that divides
the Hadean realm to the eternal judgment of
Heaven or Hell on the day Christ returns.
In recent news, many have discussed the
preservation of the Ten Commandments in
public places, citing that they are God’s law

a foundation for wrestling effectively with the issues of
life. The instructors, Steven Lloyd and Don Ruhl,
offer a scriptural alternative to the theories of secular

Counseling is about changing the way we think and this series will help those

Bible and tradition, as defined by the Roman Catholic church, constitutes the

Debate: Does Morality Come From God? – Item#5509
This debate was held on the campus of Texas State University
in San Marcos, Texas on November 15, 2009 between Dan
Barker (atheist) and Kevin Cauley (Church of Christ).
Cauley affirmed: “Humanity is obligated to behave morally
only if God exists.” While Barker affirmed: “Humanity is
obligated to behave morally even without God.” The debate
lasted approximately one and a half hours, with an additional
half hour for a question and answer session.

Texas State University on September 20-23, 1976.
Dr. Thomas B. Warren (then Professor of Philosophy

An Invitation
Welcome to VBI! We appreciate your interest in studying God’s word and truly believe what is offered in these pages has the power to
change your life and, in turn, change the world. We offer nothing of our own, but only the pure gospel of Jesus the Christ taught on videos
by qualified instructors. If you, as a good student (2 Tim 2:15), are willing to put forth the effort VBI will give you a focused, organized and
intensive study of the entire Bible. You will memorize verses, write papers, read inspiring literature and take written tests while growing as a
Christian in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.
We commend the good schools of preaching that have served us so well over the years. They are still needed and VBI cannot take their
place. In fact, any student who can enroll in a biblically sound in-residence preacher training school is highly encouraged to do so. However,
realizing not everyone can afford the time and expense of that option we offer this correspondence school as the next best thing to being in
the classroom.
The men you will study under at VBI have years of experience teaching in the classroom. You will study the same material they teach to their
students — you will be their student. Now, without leaving your job, and without even leaving your home, you can receive Bible instruction
that will bless your life now and forever.
You may want to preach. You may want to be an elder. You may want to be a better Bible class teacher. You may want to teach your neighbor
or your own children. You may just want to be the best Christian you can be. Whatever your goal, if you are looking for a program that will
ground you in the faith and cultivate a lifelong desire for meaningful Bible study, then you have come to the right place. We are not liberal.
We are not radical. We are in the Old Paths (Jeremiah 6:16), and that is where we intend to stay for that is where the Lord is found. Will you

World Video Bible
(WVBS) began in 1986 with the dream of producing an intensive, doctrinally sound, comprehensive preacher
training curriculum on video. WVBS DVDs and tapes are in use around the globe helping to train preachers, elders, teachers and members.
In 1997 the Video Bible Institute was launched as a division of World Video Bible School®. All VBI courses are built around WVBS courses on
DVDs. VBI is a unique program designed for Christians willing to do the required homework in order to receive credit for their effort, as well
as the increased knowledge and stronger faith which result from so doing. All our labors are to the glory of no one but the Lord and, God
willing, the history of VBI has only begun to be written. As of January 1, 2007, VBI is under the direction of the Central Church of Christ in
Martinsburg, West Virginia. The congregation’s elders oversee the work of VBI, and Jody Apple serves as its director.
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom.

Admission Requirements
Each student must complete an application, including references, prior to being enrolled. An application can be requested from WVBS or
by contacting VBI directly with the information provided above. Enrollment of any student is subject to approval. VBI reserves the right to
dismiss a student at any time and is not subject to review by any person or group outside Video Bible Institute. Students are expected to be
faithful members of the Church of Christ. Married students having a divorce must indicate they are now living in harmony with Jesus’ teaching
in Matthew 19:9. Students must have the highest moral character and a deep and healthy respect for the Bible, including its inspiration and
authority, realizing all of us will one day be judged by the standard of the Lord’s New Testament (John 12:48).
Where We Stand
We believe the truth has nothing of which to be ashamed--and neither do those who stand for it (Rom 1:16). We believe the Bible is
the all-sufficient, verbally and plenary inspired word of God (2 Tim 3:16, 17). Everything it contains is true (Heb 6:18). Today everyone
everywhere is amenable to the New Testament of Jesus the Christ, God’s only begotten Son, who built one church and bought it with
His own blood (Acts 17:30; 20:28).
The Holy Spirit of God dwells in His church (Rom 8:9; 1 Cor 6:19), and God adds people to His church when, after faith, repentance and
confession they are immersed in water for the forgiveness of their sins (Acts 2:38,47). We cannot be saved without God’s grace, but He will
not save without our obedience (Heb 5:9). Eternity rushes swiftly upon each of us and where we spend it will be determined by what we
do with the gospel now (2 Thess 1:6-10). By definition the Lord’s church is not a denomination, nor can it be in spiritual fellowship with any
denomination. The Church of Christ is not unique just for the sake of being different. Rather, the denominations are different because they do
not strictly follow the divine pattern presented in the New Testament for worship and daily life. We believe the gospel is a timeless message
for men lost in sin and never needs updating. We invite all in the denominations to abandon their man-made traditions, creeds, peculiar
doctrines and practices and embark on a revolutionary journey all the way back to the Bible. Let us speak where the Bible speaks and remain
silent where the Bible is silent. Let us do Bible things in Bible ways. If we follow the New Testament we cannot be wrong! If we stray from
the New Testament we cannot be right!

Your Congregation Can Evangelize The World
Now, your congregation can actively participate in evangelism, benevolence and edification—without ever leaving the
church building. Here’s how….
Once or twice a year, World Video Bible School asks congregations of the Lord’s church in America to help sister congregations
and schools of preaching in foreign lands that are simply too poor to afford even the most basic teaching tools for use in
spreading the Gospel of Christ. We ask on behalf of these brothers and sisters in Christ because, in most cases, they have no
way to ask for themselves.
We are not asking for money to be spent on buildings. Nor are we asking for funds to provide physical sustenance. Rather, we
are asking for funds that can be used to provide sound teaching materials to people who are spiritually hungry, who want to
learn, and who earnestly desire to teach others in order to spread the borders of the Lord’s kingdom.
The procedure we have put in place is both simple and efficient. Congregations can send a monthly, quarterly or annual
donation to World Video Bible School on behalf of less-fortunate foreign brethren. We place every dollar we receive into the
“Church of Christ Donation Fund.” Then, throughout the year we use those funds to purchase and ship free materials to as
many “in-need” churches of Christ and preacher-training schools around the world as possible. Every penny of every dollar you
send is spent to provide these materials completely free of charge (including all shipping costs)! Each invoice we send with materials
to overseas destinations is marked, “THIS INVOICE WAS PAID IN FULL BY CHURCHES OF CHRIST IN THE U.S.A.” We
want the Christians who are the recipients of these items to know that they are receiving them because of loving, caring members
of the Lord’s church, not because of anything that WVBS has done. We are merely the conduit. Ultimately, it is the Lord’s people
here in America who are responsible for providing everything we send to those less-fortunate brethren who live in foreign countries.
But, there is more than one way in which Christians can participate. Some congregations in America select a specific sister congregation in a distant land to receive the materials we make available—either because they already support that congregation financially,
or because they have asked us to recommend congregations or schools that we know can use the help. Each American congregation
that participates in this program of evangelism, benevolence and edification receives a monthly newsletter that provides a report

Many of these are in third-world countries, and have little or no money for
the purchase of materials to help them grow in the faith, or to help them
teach others. They are completely dependent upon acts of benevolence for
any teaching tools they receive.
If fellow Christians will not help them, who will?
In 2010, for example, free materials were
sent into 45 foreign countries—resulting
in 1567 baptisms and 199 restorations (and
those are just the ones we know about!).
Here at WVBS we receive significant
numbers of requests each month for free material from poor brethren all over the world. It is only because churches of Christ in
America send contributions to the “Church of Christ Donation Fund” that we are able to provide those free materials on their
behalf. Please understand that every dollar that is donated to the fund is used solely to provide churches and preacher-training
schools in foreign lands with the teaching materials that they otherwise would never be able to obtain. In addition, these funds
also provide free materials to U.S. jails and prisons.
Would your congregation please consider helping with this project? The demand for donated materials has skyrocketed in recent
years. We do not want to say “No” to any legitimate request for the teaching tools that we are able to provide. Help us to be able
to say “Yes,” won’t you?
