Set in mountain bushland on the King River, Lake William Hovell provides fishing, boating
and picnic facilities in tranquil scenery. Enjoy the trip to and from the lake - past beautiful
wineries, ex tobacco farms and passing directly under Powers Lookout. Jump aboard the
boat and try your luck at catching trout and golden perch. BBQ lunch included. The only
requirement is for participants to bring a fishing rod. Bus departs at 9am from the Olympic

King Valley Shed Wine Show

Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre, 33-37 Ford Street, Wangaratta
Come and taste the premium wines of the King Valley. The King Valley Shed Wine Show
is a unique one day event - makers of wine, both professional and amateur, using grapes
from the King Valley are invited to show their wine and the public is invited to be the judge.
This public judging makes the show unique. Cost of entry includes a commemorative
glass. To assist the public with scoring the wines, there will be a Wine Tasting Course
available on the day.

Relay for Life

WJ Findlay Reserve, Home of the Wangaratta Rovers, Wangaratta
The Wangaratta Relay for Life event supports the Cancer Council’s fundraising for research,
education and support services. There will be an Opening and Survivors Ceremony at 3pm
and a Remembrance Candlelight Ceremony at 7.30pm with live entertainment throughout
the day and night. Up to 80 teams and 1800 participants will continually walk in relay for
20 hours in a spectacular display of community spirit.

As a founding team member of Young Talent Time, Jamie Redfern was one of the most
successful phenomenons in the history of Australian television. Jamie was, on numerous

your grandchildren or dust off your vocal chords and try Sing Star. These and many other
activities will be run by our Youth Councillors and local service providers. No experience

FREE Public Transport
8 days of Free Public Transport - Sunday 3 October - Sunday 10 October 2010
The Victorian Government is pleased to provide Victorian Seniors Card holders with free
public transport during the 2010 Seniors Festival. Holders of Seniors Cards from other
Australian States and Territories are not eligible for free travel during the Festival, but can
purchase concession fares on V/Line and regional town bus services.
8 days of free regional town bus services and metropolitan transport
All Victorian regional town bus services are free for Victorian Seniors Card holders.
Seniors do not need a ticket, and must simply show their Victorian Seniors Card when
asked. Metropolitan trams, buses and trains are free for Victorian Senors Card holders.
Please try to avoid using services arriving in the city before 9am and departing between
4pm and 7pm on weekdays.
Free V/Line travel
Free travel on V/Line rail and coach services is available on: - Tuesday 5 October,
Wednesday 6 October, Thursday 7 October, Saturday 9 October, Sunday 10
October. Free travel is valid on economy class services only.
Reserved V/Line services
Seat reservations are now compulsory on all long-distance V/Line rail services and
some coach services so check if you need to make a booking before you travel. Call
136 196 or visit www.viclink.com.au for more information on regional services.
All journeys marked with an ‘R’ in V/Line timetables require a booking.
