Each team paid an entry fee of $5,000 to participate in the tournament. This generous donation from the above
teams contributed $40,000 towards Algonquin College’s Capital Campaign for the new campus, Renaissance Square.
In addition, the Rotary Club of Pembroke made a further pledge, bringing their total pledge to Algonquin College to
$25,000.

TVCOGECO production of this fundraiser event which brought in $65,000 for the new campus.

Algonquin College would like to extend a very special thank you to Canadian Monopoly Champion Will
Lusby for helping us raise $65,000 for our new Ottawa Valley campus.
We also want to express much appreciation to Will Lusby’s team of judges, commentators, and
statisticians who travelled with him from Ottawa to Pembroke to help Algonquin College make this
event such a success.

Lisa is one of the members of the Capital Campaign Committee who helped with the College-opoly tournament. Other committee members
include: Lt. Col. Keith Rudderham, Dawn Dubé, C.B. Pappin, Chris Kelly, Mark Huckabone, Chair, and Fred Blackstein, Honorary Chair.
The committee’s goal is to raise $2.5 million for the new campus through a number of fundraising events and activities.
The groundbreaking for the new campus is planned for April 2011 and students will start at the new campus in the fall of 2012.
