WHO'S WHO IN THE CAST
Chris Antunes (Luis) is thrilled to return to the City Lights stage for West Side
Story, after first appearing with CLTC in The Rocky Horror Show in 2013. Chris
currently attends De Anza College and hopes to continue performing while
pursuing his education in Critical Theory/Social Justice. He looks forward to
working with City Lights more in the future, and to being a part of their one-ofa-kind productions.
Melissa Baxter (Anybodys) is excited to be performing in her first production
with City Lights. A graduate of the Foothill Theater Conservatory at Foothill
College, she has played Calliope (Xanadu), Trix (The Drowsy Chaperone), Kathleen
(Ragtime), Diana (Ring Round the Moon), and Chutney (Legally Blonde). Melissa
is currently an acting teacher at Camp CMT this summer, marking her fifth year
of teaching there.
Jenni Chapman (Lydia) is currently earning her BFA in Musical Theatre from
Emerson College in Boston, where she was seen as Abby Black in Extremely
Loud and Incredibly Close: A Mixed Media Adaptation and as Ladybird in James
and the Giant Peach. Regional credits include Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird and
originating the role of Nelle Harper in the world premiere of A Christmas Memory
at TheatreWorks. Other credits include Kate Monster (Avenue Q, CMTSJ), The
Baker’s Wife (Into the Woods, AMHS), Smitty (How to Succeed in Business
Without Really Trying, AMHS -- National Youth Arts Award for Outstanding
Supporting Actress in a Musical), and Jo March (Little Women – LAYT).
William Corkery (Baby John) is a sophomore at San Jose State University
in the RTVF department. He is fairly new to the entire Bay Area theater scene,
and this is his first show with City Lights. Past roles include William Barfee
(25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Otto (Spring Awakening), Trinculo
(SVS’s The Tempest), Kokol (Marat/Sade) and Joey in San Jose State’s recent
production of Zoot Suit.
Dominic Dagdagan (Pepe) is excited to be making his debut at City Lights –
though this is Dominic’s second production of West Side Story (the first was at
Stage 1). Other credits include Usnavi in In the Heights (CSUEB), Gingy and Pied
Piper in Shrek the Musical (TVRT) and Puppeteer/Ensemble in Spamalot (Stage 1).

Katherine Dela Cruz (Maria) is making her CLTC debut in West Side Story.
Credits include Jesus Christ Superstar (Mary Magdalene) with Stage 1 Theatre;
Les Miserables (Eponine) with Tri-Valley Repertory; Miss Saigon (Kim) with Palo
Alto Players; Rent (Mimi) with Tracy Performing Arts; All Shook Up (Sylvia), Annie
(Lily St. Regis), Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), Legally Blonde (Pilar), and A Little
Princess (Aljana) with Starstruck Theatre. She was also in the hit competition
show “The Voice: Philippines” where her performance eventually led to the
privilege of singing a duet with the great Lea Salonga. By day, KC teaches at
an afterschool program and works towards earning her Psychology degree.
Suzanna Dinga (Francisca) is excited to be making her City Lights debut in
West Side Story, after last being seen in CMTSJ’s Marquee production of Mary
Poppins. She studied various types of dance at West Valley and Mission Colleges
for five years, and has always loved singing. This is only her second stage
production since childhood, but she plans to add many more to her repertoire
in the coming years.
Paul Estioko (Indio) is ecstatic to be making his City Lights debut in West
Side Story. He has been seen previously as Sonny in In the Heights (CSUEB),
as Anxious in West Side Story (S1T), and as Marcel/Seabee in South Pacific
(FMT). Theatre aside, Paul is a hula/Tahitian dancer, an SJSU Spartan, a food
enthusiast, and a bartender.
Naomi Evans (Teresita) is excited to be performing in West Side Story, her very
first show (onstage) with City Lights! She was last seen as one of the Harlem
Women in CMTSJ’s Marquee production of Ragtime, and some favorite roles
include Shonda Cox in The North Plan, Vanessa in In the Heights, and the Lady
in Blue in For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow
is Enuf. Naomi is a recent graduate from Santa Clara University, with a B.A. in
Theatre Arts and a minor in Musical Theatre.
Yuliya Eydelnant (Rosalia) is ecstatic to be a part of City Lights’ production of
West Side Story. Recent credits include The Addams Family (Ensemble, PAP),
Urinetown (Soupy Sue, Cabrillo Stage), Monty Python’s SPAMALOT (Ensemble,
CLTC), In The Heights (Yolanda/Featured Dancer/Assistant Choreographer, PAP)
The Rocky Horror Show (Ensemble, CLTC 2013), and Rent ( Mimi Marquez U.K RP). Many of her projects have been in short films, music recitals, and
performances such as the San Jose Jazz Festival or dance performances at
the former Just Dance Ballroom. Yuliya is also a vocalist and percussionist for
the band Echo Street.

Josiah Frampton (Riff) is excited to return to City Lights after playing Patsy
in Monty Python’s SPAMALOT last season. He has previously worked in many
productions with Cabrillo Stage, including Escaping Queens (Manny/Freddy,
2012-13), The Full Monty (Ensemble, 2011), and Cabaret (Ernst, 2010). He has
also had the pleasure of working with Tabard Theatre as Clive in See How They
Run (2011), and with Hillbarn Theatre in the Quartet of Will Rogers’ Follies (2011).
Sara Frondoni (Graziella) graduated last May from the University of Southern
California Thornton School of Music, where she studied Voice Performance and
Opera. This is her second musical theatre production since moving to the Bay
Area last May. Sara was a part of Foothill Theatre’s Sunday in the Park with George
in February, in which she understudied for the roles of Celeste 2 and Yvonne. At
USC, Sara performed in USC’s Opera and Chamber Opera productions, opera
scenes, an a cappella group, and USC’s Concert Choir. She’s excited to return
to the world of musical theatre.
George S. Gemette (Doc) ) has been performing for over forty years up and down
the California Coast, and is appearing in his eighth City Lights show. He first
performed in West Side Story as Pepe, thirty years ago at West Valley College.
Favorite roles include Porthos in The Three Musketeers, Geronte in Scapino, a
House Phantom in The Rocky Horror Show (CLTC 2003), Tony Alto in The Altos,
and Sam Byck in Assassins (CLTC 2004). George studied Theatre Arts at Santa
Clara University, and he has received training from the Academy of the Sword.
George’s first show with City Lights was The Connection – way back in 1983,
when the theatre was located in San Pedro Square.
Darrell Hubbard (A-rab) is excited to be making his City Lights debut as a Jet.
He is going into his Junior year at Santa Clara University, and he has been doing
theatre since kindergarten. Currently a Theatre major, Darrell is also pursuing a
minor in Creative Writing, and writes plays in his free time.
Max Jennings (Tony) is thrilled to be making his City Lights debut as Tony
-- since years ago, when he was just an awkward middle-schooler, West Side
Story was one of the first shows that fueled his new-found passion for musical
theatre. Max is soon to embark on his senior year as a Theatre major at Santa
Clara University, where he was most recently seen as Alonso in The Tempest.
After graduation, Max hopes to earn an MFA, and then pursue acting on stage
and for the camera.

Lillian Kautz (Minnie) earned a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a dance emphasis, and a
Communications degree, from Santa Clara University, which she attended on both
a dance and a Quinn Martin scholarship. She has been dancing for 15 years, and
she has studied with American Ballet Theatre, the Royal Danish Ballet, and Ballet
Petit -- where she performed roles such as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen
in The Nutcracker, Swanhilda in Coppelia, Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, and Odette
in Swan Lake Act 2. Lillian has also performed in multiple musical productions
with Starstruck Theatre, including Guys and Dolls, Legally Blonde, All Shook Up,
and Shrek the Musical. She currently teaches ballet and jazz dance.
Zoey Lytle (Velma) has pursued musical theatre ever since she saw The Sound
of Music at the age of four and stood up after the curtain call saying “I want to
be on a stage like that someday!” Favorite roles include Ramona in Ramona
Quimby (California Theatre Center) and Jemima in Cats (CMTSJ), where she
recently appeared in Into The Woods. Throughout the last two years, Zoey has
begun teaching and has choreographed many youth theatre productions including
Annie and A Little Princess with Chrysalis Youth Theatre and Peter Pan with Heart
Academy. Zoey is looking forward to attending West Valley College next year.
Jomar Martinez (Chino) is thrilled to be making his CLTC debut in this classic
musical! He was previously seen as the Caveman in The Addams Family (PAP).
Other credits include Luke in Altar Boyz (CS), the workshop and World Premiere
of The Snow Queen (SJ Rep), Luke (aka Ling) in Anything Goes (CS), A Christmas
Carol (SJ Rep), and Hot Blades Harry in Urinetown (CS). Jomar received his BA
from San Jose State University.
Danielle Mendoza (Anita) is honored to be playing Anita at City Lights. She is a
Sunnyvale native, and received her BA in Music from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Recent credits include Vanessa in In the Heights (CSUEB), Bebe in A Chorus Line
(SCP), and Suffragette Dancestor in The Addams Family (PAP).
Howard L. Miller (Sgt. Krupke/Glad Hand) is thrilled to be back onstage with
CLTC after last appearing as a Prison Guard in Dead Man Walking. He is no
stranger to Bay Area theatre and has performed, directed, produced, and stage
managed for many groups, including SBMT, WVLO, SJCMT, RTE, TTC, STOC, and
SCP. Howard is also currently a Board Member for South Bay Musical Theatre.

Amanda Nguyen (Consuelo) is thrilled to be making her CLTC debut in West Side
Story this season, reprising the role of the beautiful, bold, blonde Consuelo! She
graduated from SFSU in 2013 with a BA in Drama, Emphasis in Performance. A
current Musical Theatre Camp teacher at the Westlake School for the Performing
Arts, and a proud barista at the Tazza D’Amoré Café, Amanda has appeared
in Rent (Mimi, PCP), West Side Story (Consuelo, Stage 1), South Pacific (Liat,
FMT), Miss Saigon (Bar Girl/ensemble, PAP), In The Heights (Featured Ensemble
Dancer, CSUEB), Forever Ginling (Tsen Shui-Feng, FHNM), and Beauty and the
Beast (Lumiere, WSPA). You can catch Amanda in BBBay’s Kiss Me Kate this fall!
Sean Okuniewicz (Action) is making his City Lights debut in West Side Story.
He started acting in his high school’s theater program, Cupertino Actors Theater,
playing roles such as Brutus in Julius Caesar and Tommy in The Who’s Tommy.
Sean is currently attending Foothill College where he hopes to gain an Associate
Degree in Theatre Arts before transferring to school in New York where he will
continue to pursue a career in Musical Theater. Sean looks forward to doing
more acting work in and around the Bay Area before he leaves.
Brittany Pisoni (Trixie) is enjoying her first production at City Lights. She is
currently studying Theatre Arts at Foothill College, where she appeared as the
Angel in Angels in America, Part 2: Perestroika. Other Foothill College credits
include The Assembly Women (chorus), Eve of the Trail (Pearl Simmons), and
10PM at the St. James Hotel (Amanda Jefferson). Brittany has also trained as a
dancer for 15 years, studying ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and lyrical dance. In her
free time, she enjoys playwriting.
Nick Rodrigues (Bernardo) has just graduated from Santa Clara University as
an Accounting and Theatre Arts double major, and a Mathematics and Musical
Theatre double minor! He has appeared as Usnavi in CMTSJ’s production of In
the Heights, and as Orin Scrivello in Santa Clara University’s production of Little
Shop of Horrors. Some of his favorite roles include Ren in Footloose, Cinderella’s
Prince in Into the Woods, Troy in High School Musical, and The Scarecrow in
The Wiz. This is Nick’s first appearance with City Lights.
Jeremy Ryan (Diesel) is thrilled to return to City Lights after appearing as Geoffrey
Court in the world premiere of Truce: A Christmas Wish from the Great War and
as Sir Bedevere/Concorde/Dennis’s Mother in Monty Python’s SPAMALOT.
Roles elsewhere include Biff Loman in Death of a Salesman (Broadway West),
Chevalier Danceny in Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Dragon Theatre), Sebastian in
Twelfth Night (Silicon Valley Shakespeare), Jake Mace in House & Garden (Pear
Avenue Theatre) and Chester “Cosmo” Collier in It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live
Radio Play (Broadway By the Bay). Jeremy is a graduate of the Foothill Theatre
Conservatory and a company member at Play On Words San Jose.

Frank Swaringen (Lt. Schrank) has returned to the stage after a 29-year
hiatus, having only recently retired as a Sergeant from the San Jose Police
Department. Prior to that, Frank performed on stages throughout the Bay Area.
Past roles include Joe Pendleton in TheatreWest’s Heaven Can Wait and Rocky
in Berkeley Stage’s The Iceman Cometh. Most recently, Frank appeared as
Juror #6 in Coastal Repertory Theatre’s Twelve Angry Men, Lee in Northside
Theatre Company’s True West, and Bill Crocker in Palo Alto Players’ The
Farnsworth Invention. West Side Story is Frank’s second City Lights production;
he performed last season in CLTC’s The Smell of the Kill.
WHO’S WHO BEHIND THE SCENES
Melissa Sanchez (Costume Designer) is a graduate of San Francisco State University where
she received her B.S. in Technical Theater with an emphasis on Costume Design. While there she
worked on numerous productions such as Chess, A Streetcar Named Desire, Engaged, The Barber
of Seville, Spring Awakening, and Tartuffe. Other work includes References to Salvador Dali Make Me
Hot, as well as original works such as Wallflower and La Llorona. West Side Story marks Melissa’s
first production with City Lights.
Ivette Deltoro (Asst. Stage Manager) is excited to be working on West Side Story as Assistant
Stage Manager. She has recently served as ASM on Exit, Pursued by a Bear, and worked with the
design team on both The Language Archive and The Smell of the Kill as Assistant Stage Manager
and Properties Designer, respectively. Ivette is also an actress, and she has appeared with City
Lights in Coney Island Christmas, Amadeus, and the world premiere of Truce: A Christmas Wish from
the Great War. During the day, Ivette can be found in the City Lights office working as the Casting
& Administrative Assistant.

Jennifer Gorgulho (Choreographer) graduated from SJSU with a BFA in Dance with a Jazz Emphasis.
Her latest choreographic works include shows with CLTC (Monty Python’s SPAMALOT), PAP (Big
Fish, Young Frankenstein, Miss Saigon), AMHS (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), WVLO (Irene) and
CMTSJ’s Phantom. Performance credits include Mary Poppins, White Christmas (CMTSJ), Shrek
The Musical (DTC); and A Chorus Line, Hairspray, Swing! (CS).
Nick Kumamoto (Resident Lighting & Projection Designer) is completing his third season with
City Lights as resident lighting and projections designer. Next season, he will take on the position
of master electrician at Palo Alto Players. Nick is a recent graduate of Santa Clara University and a
recipient of the Leigh Weimers Emerging Artist Award.
Katie Linza (Musical Director) currently teaches private voice and piano lessons and teaches choir,
music theory, and musical theatre at Pinewood School in Los Altos Hills. Katie has been blessed
with many years of music teaching, directing, and performance experience, having worked as music
director, conductor, piano accompanist, and arranger for various jazz, pop, classical choral, acappella,
and theatrical groups, and having sung and recorded with multiple jazz, R&B/funk/soul, gospel, AfroLatin, and musical theatre ensembles in the Bay Area and beyond. In addition to her extensive work
as a musician, Katie is also an actor and has trained and performed with various theatre companies
in the Bay Area and has worked on various film and commercial projects.

WHO’S WHO BEHIND THE SCENES, cont.
Charnnee’ Young (Stage Manager) is stage managing her second City Lights production, afer first
coming on board for the world premiere of Truce: A Christmas Wish from The Great War. Previously,
she has done both technical and performance theatre with Foothill College, working on Rosencrantz
and Guildenstern are Dead (Ensemble/Property Manager), Spring Awakening (ASM), Nickel & Dimed
(SM), and South Pacific (Bloody Mary’s Assistant). In addition to stage managing this production,
Charnnee’ also works as an Administrative Intern this season here at City Lights. Charnnee’ thanks
her mom for everything, and Lisa and the entire staff for the opportunity to work at City Lights.
George Psarras (Resident Composer/Sound Designer) has designed sound and/or written original
music for City Lights productions of The Full Monty, A Few Good Men, Boy Gets Girl, ShakesPod,
First Person Shooter, The Three Musketeers, Compleat Female Stage Beauty, Equus, Distracted,
August: Osage County, Aphrodisiac, Hamlet, In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play, 44 Plays for 44
Presidents, Christmas Shorts, Ching Chong Chinaman, Hedda Gabler, Spacebar, The Rocky Horror
Show, Amadeus, the world premiere of Truce: A Christmas Wish from the Great War, the Northern
California premiere of Build, M. Butterfly, and Exit, Pursued by a Bear. He has also appeared in many
City Lights productions, including ShakesPod, First Person Shooter, The Three Musketeers, August:
Osage County, Aphrodisiac, the World Premiere of Spacebar: a Broadway Play by Kyle Sugarman,
Amadeus, and Build. For Foothill College he has written music for The Lion, The Witch, and The
Wardrobe and The Enchanted, and he provided original music and sound design for Manic Pixie
Dream Girl at the ACT costume shop. A graduate of the Foothill Theatre Conservatory, George has
also appeared and worked with numerous other Bay Area companies, including TheatreWorks, Golden
Thread, Crowded Fire, and Dragon Productions. He also works in film and television.
Miranda Whipple (Properties Designer) returns to City Lights as Properties Designer after first
designing props for Exit, Pursued by a Bear. A recent graduate of Cal State Fullerton, Miranda
worked this past summer as prop master for Shakespeare Orange County. With a background in
stage management, she has worked on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Miracle Worker, and Hair:
The Musical.

WHO'S WHO AT CITY LIGHTS
Lisa Mallette (Executive Artistic Director) is in her fourteenth season at City Lights and tenth
as Executive Artistic Director, and she is thrilled to see the company continuing such dramatic
artistic and administrative momentum. Lisa has appeared onstage at City Lights in last
season’s The Language Archive, as well as Clouds Hill, String of Pearls, Dead Man Walking, and
August: Osage County. She has directed Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, A…My Name
Is Alice, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Full Monty, Hair, First Person Shooter, Rent, Distracted,
Aphrodisiac, the world premiere production of Spacebar, The Rocky Horror Show, last season’s
award-winning Amadeus, and this season’s Build. Lisa is a member of the Theatre Bay Area
Board of Directors, chairs the TBA Theatre Services Committee, and is the 2014 recipient of
the Silicon Valley Creates Artist Laureate Award. A native of San Francisco, she is the mother
of two beautiful daughters, Sophie and Olivia.
Kit Wilder (Associate Artistic Director & Grantswriter) is a graduate of Santa Clara University,
and has received training in London from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and with
members of the Royal Shakespeare Company. For City Lights, Kit has directed many City
Lights productions, including String of Pearls, Wise Women, Assassins, The Waiting Room,
Angels in America Part One: Millennium Approaches, The Goat, Angels in America Part Two:
Perestroika, A Few Good Men, The Who's Tommy, Frank Langella's Cyrano, Equus, Hamlet, 44
Plays for 44 Presidents, Coney Island Christmas, and the world premiere of Truce: A Christmas
Wish from the Great War (which he co-wrote with Jeffrey Bracco). He has also appeared in
Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show (2003), Clouds Hill, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Full
Monty, The Three Musketeers, ART, and M. Butterfly.
Anne Younan (Development & Business Manager) has been a member of the City Lights team
for the past eighteen years -- as Special Events Coordinator, Box Office Technician, Company
Manager, Box Office & Business Manager, and now Development & Business Manager. For
Anne and City Lights, it all began 26 years ago when she appeared in A Girl’s Guide to Chaos,
followed by Mrs. California, Rememberance, Joined at the Head, Definitely Not a Christmas
Carol, Nutcracker This!, and Circles, before taking time off to have her lively daughter, Sarah,
in 2000. Upon her return, she appeared in the Spotlight Series presentation of Birth, and most
recently Dead Man Walking. In May of 2004 she added her spirited son, Jake, to the fold at
home, and now relishes her time at City Lights as quality “adult time.”
Ron Gasparinetti (Production Manager/Technical Director/Resident Scenic Designer)
originally hails from Newark, New Jersey, and has been a Bay Area resident for the past fifteen
years. In addition to serving as PM and TD for City Lights, he is also the company’s resident
Scenic Designer. He also served as PM and TD for Palo Alto Players for eight years. Ron has
been a part of nearly 500 productions over his 32-year-long devotion to theatre, and he has
designed at many Bay Area theatre companies. Some of his most recent creations include
Cat’s Paw (Dragon Productions), The Clean House (Bus Barn Stage Company), and Blithe Spirit

Rebecca Wallace (Marketing Director) is a writer, actor, and former longtime Bay Area
newspaper journalist. Most recently, she was the arts and entertainment editor at the Palo Alto
Weekly, working with a team of other scribes to write about theater, music, dance, and visual
art in the Palo Alto/Stanford area. During that time, she was chosen for a National Endowment
for the Arts fellowship with the NEA’s Arts Journalism Institute at Columbia University. On stage,
Rebecca has performed at many local theater companies and a few smoky Hungarian bars—she
spent a few years in Budapest, where she sang with a country-western band. She now focuses
on using her writing experience to help City Lights tell its world of stories.
