Hartford, with their starting keeper Klaritza Perez and power forward Marissa Galvin out for the season managed to make a contest of it as Mariah Mireles scored two in a valiant effort to keep her team in the game. Bangor keeper Melanie Tromotola had 14 saves while conceding two goals after defensive lapses. The Lady Vikings got it together in the second half and outscored the Indians 3-0. Vikings top Bobcats 7-2 By Coach Dennis Yunke O n a bright and sunny day on May 22, the Bangor Vikings led by senior standout Marissa Carpio defeated the Brandywine Bobcats 7-2 behind Carpio’s 4 goals and 3 assists. Goals were added by Maggie Ring (2) and Destiny Perry to secure the Vikings twelfth victory in 13 games and close out the regular season for the Bangor footballers. Allison Weber added an assist and again played superb attacking midfield. Carpio sits atop the pack in Division 4 as the top goal scorer, tied at the top in assists and is the top total point leader in the division. She sits in the top ten in all divisions in goals scored and total points as well. Maggie Ring sits 5th in Division 4 in scoring in her first year of soccer. Destiny Perry and Allison Weber round out the Bangor quartet nestled in the top 25 in division 4. The Lady Vikings stout defense kept the Bobcats at bay, and the Cats scored both goals from deep shots that just cleared the fingertips of leaping keeper Melanie Tromotola. Bangor’s regular season ends with an 11 game win streak and coupled with last years 12 game win streak brings their won/loss record to 26 wins 4 losses.
