IN VARIABLE RESISTORS
Flexpoint’s patented Bend Sensor ® is one of a kind. It consists of a single
thin (.005"), flexible plastic that is coated with a proprietary
carbon/polymer-based system. In short, the
Bend Sensor ® is a variable resistor that
changes as it is bent. Electronic systems connect to the sensor and
measure with fine detail
the amount of bending
or movement that occurs. A
movement of only one inch can
yield over 200,000 data points.
This single layer design eliminates many
of the problems associated with conventional
sensors such as dust, dirt, liquids, and heat and
pressure effects. The Bend Sensor ® is a technological
breakthrough because it is an ultra thin flexible plastic film
that reduces the dimensions of typical sensor devices by as
