Regarding Jeff Lichtenstein of Waterfront Properties and Club Communities
G
rowing up in Chicago, Jeff Lichtenstein, 36, was
a huge sports fanatic playing multi-sport pick-up
games and cheering for the home teams including
football’s Chicago Bears and basketball’s Chicago
Bulls. These mega sports franchises turned out many championship rings and champions including Michael Jordan and the late
Walter Payton. These athletes represented more than just super
jocks to Jeff, they were role models. Each was extremely team
oriented and natural born leaders. Their work ethic was unusually arduous, constantly pushing themselves the extra mile. Walter Payton only missed 1 game in his 12 year career as a Chicago
Bear running back. “I reflect on their attitude when I arrive at
my office most mornings between 4:30 and 6am,” says Jeff. “In
fact, the only time I am not commuting in the dark is during the
daylight savings months. But, it’s worth it! I’m able to schedule
and plan my business day, certain nothing will fall through the
cracks.
Being so diligent allows me time to include plans with my
family like the special date my 6 year old Sam and I share every
Friday morning when we go out for breakfast before heading to
his school. These truly are the precious moments of life and compliment all success you achieve.” In addition to Sam, Jeff and his
wife Veronica are the parents of 1 ½ year old Savannah.
Jeff’s grandfather also prepared him for business through
meaningful sayings such as ‘you can’t do a good deal with a bad
guy’. “I reflect on those anecdotes today,” states Lichtenstein.
“I’m generally a very positive individual, but if I walk away from
a house-showing and don’t have a good feeling about the buyer,
I’ll immediately share this with the homeowner. Unfortunately,
it more than often proves to be a preview of coming attractions.”
Jeff confides. “We can handle it regardless, it’s just easier when
prepared ahead of time.” Jeff’s full time staff of 3 highly qualified professionals live by the mantra to make ‘Raving Fans’ of
everyone they work with………”guess it all stems from those
terrific games in Chicago”.
Jeff’s dad was a great example of what hard work was all
about and upon graduating from Syracuse University Jeff went to
work for the family textile business, excelling in marketing and
learning from the bottom up. “Working a half day meant only
12 hours,” claimed Jeff, “and I was traveling on an average of
35 weeks a year. I saw a lot and learned a lot on the road which
now assists me in recognizing and addressing various situations.
I am able to apply non-traditional techniques to the world of real
estate. I may have gone through the school of hard knocks, but I
greatly appreciate all the mid-west values I learned.”
