Multi Band Omni Ceiling Antenna [ N-Connector]
These Attenuators has been designed to give an economic solution to the growing need for
compact, rugged and simple attenuation suitable for bench & field use. These attenuators use chip
resistors for attenuation.
The heat sinks are made of black finished aluminium for maximum thermal radiation with N-Type
connectors.
Ceiling mounted omni antennas for CDMA 800, GSM 900, DCS, PCS, UMTS and WiFi bands are
now available especially for micro-cell and In-building applications. This antenna can be
operated in all frequency ranges simultaneously & needs no additional ground plane.

Front to back Ratio, The difference (in dB) between
power radiated in the boresight of the antenna to that
radiated 180 degree behind boresight.
Antenna Array
Gain
An antenna comprising a number of radiating
elements, which are arranged and excited to obtain
directional radiation pattern.
In a given direction, the ratio of radiation intensity in that
direction to the net power accepted by the antenna from
the connected transmitter.
Axial Ratio
GSM
A measure of circularity of polarization, related to a
Cross polar antenna’s XPD.
Global System for Mobile Communications; the digital
transmission technique widely adopted in Europe and
supported in North America for PCS, GSM uses 900
MHz and 1800 MHz in Europe. In North America, GSM
uses the 1900 Mhz.
Bandwidth
The range of frequencies within which the performance
of the antenna, with respect to some characteristic,
conforms to a specified standard.
Beamwidth
The acceptance angle of an antenna, usually measured
between half power(3dB) points.

Isotropic
BPF
A hypothetical antenna having equal radiation intensity
in all direction.
Band Pass Filter
CDMA
Code Division Multiple Access, is one of several digital
wireless transmission methods in which signals are
encoded using a pseudo random sequence that
corresponds to a different communication channel.
Polarization
In a given direction, the polarization of a plane wave
incident from the given direction which results in
maximum available power at the antenna terminals.
SAR
DB
Decibels; A means of expressing voltage, power, gain,
loss or frequency in logarithmic form against a
reference, Typical reference includes volts, watts or Hz.
dB = 10 log (x/y)
DBi
A ratio of decibels to an isotropic antenna that is
commonly used to measure antenna gain.
DBm
dB Power relative to one milliwatt
Dipole
A type of low gain antenna consisting of two elements
Specific Absorption Rate: the amount of radiation
absorbed by the human body (SAR for the entire body)
or by the head (local SAR).
VSWR
Voltage Standing Wave Ratio, A comparison of power
accepted to the power reflected back from the system,
generally with respect to a 50 Ohms line impedance. A
VSWR of 1.0 is 100% of power accepted by the antenna,
a VSWR of 1.5 is 97%, a VSWR of 2.o is 89%.
Wavelength
The ratio of the velocity of the wave to the frequency of
the current causing the wave.
Directional Antenna
WiFi
An antenna having the property of radiating or
receiving electromagnetic waves more effectively in
some directions than others.
Short for wireless fidelity and is meant to be used
generically hen referring of any type of 802.11b,
802.11a, dual band, etc. The term is promulgated by
the WiFi Alliance.
