PRE-APPROVED SHOPPING LIST
13.8% of children in Pennsylvania live in poverty. Many of these kids are students in our
community, and are considered chronically hungry. Operation Backpack provides the students
with much needed food for the weekend. We work with individuals and organizations to gather
donated food. Volunteers use these ready-to-eat items to fill backpacks distributed to participating
schools at the end of each week. The backpacks protect the students’ confidentiality, and they are
discretely returned on Mondays so the process can start over.
Please consider helping us by purchasing some of the items you see below.
