Welcome to Micheal Asbridge,
HOS Score On the Rise
Salina Driver Trainee, David
Berven, Solomon, KS Dispatcher
and Hayden Stewart, Salina shop.
Glad to have you all as a part of the
Big B Crew.
You may notice that again this
month we have more Violation
inspection than No Violation
inspections. This has been a bad
trend in the last few months. You
may also notice that our Hours of
Service CSA score has crept up to
52. That means that we are now in
the bottom half of all carriers for
our HOS score. I will also point out
the inspection balances at the
bottom of the page. At this point in
the year, we have taken $600 more
from owner operators than we have
given to owner operators. The
frustrating thing about our HOS
CSA score is that if jumped up
mostly because of just 2 violation
inspections. In both of those
inspections (from early August) the
drivers were caught with falsified
logs and were placed out of service.
One of those two drivers was
terminated, the other was placed on
E-Logs. The point is that we have
got to clean up our act if we want to
stay off DOT’s radar. That said,
priority #1 is to always STAY
SAFE! No matter what, BE SAFE!

No Violation Winner
This months No Violation winner is
Keith Heinrichs. Please stop into the
office to pick your prize.
The Solomon Corporation
partnership is progressing.
Beginning October 1st, we will be
responsible for finding a carrier or
transporting all freight hauled
into/out of Solomon that is not
hauled by their own trucks. Dave
Berven has been working in the
Solomon Corp. offices for the last
few weeks learning the ropes and
providing assistance leading up to
the October 1st transition. Several
drivers have already stopped in to
express interest in hauling Solomon
Corp. loads. If you are interested in
this flatbed work (no tarps) please
let Jamie know. We will keep you
updated as things progress.
All about me….....
This month’s feature is Nick
McKenna Truck 110 from Salina,
KS. Nick was one of the first driver
trainees through Doug Bradley
Trucking. He is originally from the
Windom, Connecticut area and
enjoys going back to visit every
chance he can get. He originally
moved to Kansas to be closer to his
grandfather, but now much of his
family is here. When Nick is not on
the road he enjoys working on cars
and computers as well as watching
WWE and U-Conn basketball. Nick
says he owes his love of cars and
truck driving to his uncles who he
spent a lot of time with as a child.
Nick has 3 kids which he talks
about often and you can tell he
adores. Nick has had a host of jobs
including working at the bowling
alley and various cleaning
companies in town before finding
his niche as a truck driver. If you
see Nick cruising around jamming
out on his Sirius Satellite Radio to
90’s on 9, you can reach him by his
CB handle “Chevy”. Looking into
the future he has many goals
including traveling to all 50 states
and getting his amateur HAMM
radio operators license. Nick has
been a valuable asset to Doug
Bradley Trucking and we would
like to thank him for all his hard
work and commend him for his
helpful, kind and patient
personality.

How Much Honey?
Thanks for all you do. Please stop
by a terminal and pick up your gift
of appreciation for another year of
hard work and dedication.
Who knows what going on?
It is always best to speak to your
own dispatch office rather than
check in with the other offices to
see what you are doing next.
Things change rapidly and your
office knows more about your
hours and what you are able to do
than the other offices.
Congratulations to Wendy and
Gary VanWinkle on the birth of
their grandson Hunter Joseph
Wilmes born to Joe and Krista on
September 8th in Mankato, MN,
weighing in at 9 lbs. 14 oz. and 22.5
in long.
A Job well done……
It’s always nice to get a message
from our customers on a driver.
Thanks again Jesse Garcia.
Good morning Joe,
Thank you all for the fine job. Jesse
represents you all well. We
appreciate it. Have a nice day.

Does anybody else ever get sick of
hearing about “keeping your
paperwork neat and tidy?” I know I
do. However, there are still many
drivers out there that have no time
for the Art of Organization even
though it takes so little time. We
have some drivers that literally wad
up, tear up and trample all over
their paperwork. YOUR
PAPERWORK IS YOUR PAY. We
have to scan all paperwork into our
system as well as send all original
copies to brokers. PLEASE HELP
US TO BE ABLE TO GIVE OUR
CUSTOMERS CLEAN BOL’S AS
WELL AS SAVE THE OFFICE
STAFF TIME AND
AGGRAVATION. Thanks for
your help in this matter.
Make sure your reefer is over ¾
of a tank full when delivering to
Hamilton, OH, Interstate Cold
Storage or they will insist upon
LIVE UNLOADING.
