Dear Friends:
Vince Lombardi, the legendary Green Bay Packers Football coach would start every season
with a team meeting.! Surrounded by veterans and rookies alike, he would hold a football
high above head so that each player could see it.! With all eyes on him, he simply said,
“Gentlemen, this is a football.”! He started at the very basics in order to build a
championship team.
As Christians we need to be reminded, “This is a Bible.”! The Word of God is the very
foundation of our faith and hope. Prophets of old, along with John on Patmos, were told to,
“Eat this book” referring to the message that God had given them. Read it, chew on it
(meditate), digest it; make it apart of who you are.
This playbook is our way to challenge you to get into the Word by reading these essential
100 passages of Scripture and by encouraging you to join a Connections Small Group or Bible
Study.! Together we can experience God’s best for our lives.! That’s a win for everyone.
We’re not fans; we’re completely committed followers of Jesus.! Join us as we “Get in the
Game!”
His,
Coach Geoff Schultz

Friends Connections Small Group Ministry
God has always intended the Christian life to be lived out in the
context of community. Therefore, there are a number of small group
opportunities that provide you with a place to connect and build deeper
relationships with other Christians while growing in your relationship with
Jesus. If you are not involved in a Friends Connection Small Group, we
hope you will prayerfully consider joining one.
On the next page we have listed the Connection Small Groups. The
information is subject to change and new small groups will be forming.
Every small group has its own character. Some small groups will be a
better fit for you than others.
Please feel free to visit a small group or
contact one of the leaders directly. Don’t hesitate to interview by phone
several leaders before you make decision. For additional help in finding the
right small group call Pastor Rich at the church.
