OVER 30 YEARS OF
EXPERIENCE IN CARP
BAITS
The “Rod Hutchinson Company”
was founded in 1980 by Mr. Rod
Hutchinson himself in Lincolnshire,
England. He is not only a pioneer of
carp fishing but also the most
influential developer of carp baits
and tackle. It was at that time when
all the legendary flavours and mixes
were created. His technical and
scientific approach to carp fishing
was one of the factors to make carp
fishing the fascinating sport it is
today. He has passed on his
experiences
and
his
wide
knowledge in several books and
articles that still today are
compulsory reading and highly
appreciated by carp anglers all
around the world. At the height of
his career Rod Hutchinson products
were sold all around the world.
From Soviet Russia to the United
States, from Norway to South
Africa. When he retired from the
daily business in order to
concentrate on angling and the
development of new products, the
company experienced a temporary
setback. But in 2008 it installed
modern management systems
which created an excellent service
model, which gives us a big plus on
customer satisfaction.

Due to the fact that there were no existing readymade carp baits at all when Rod Hutchinson started to
fish for carp he had to develope his own baits. After endless hours spent at home and on the bank he
improved his recipes, sourced new ingredients and never rested until the result was a top carp catching
bait in which Rod could have complete confidence. This explains why even today, 30 years later, Rod’s

Welcome to Rod Hutchinson’s new tackle catalogue 2014/2015 which marks the relaunch of our tackle range which has been designed and developed to meet the highest
standards and to withstand the exacting demands of today’s carp angler. I first launched
the ‘Rod Hutchinson’ brand in 1980, with the introduction of my baits. I then introduced
my range of carp fishing tackle which included the Dream Maker carp rods, Cabrio &
Apotheosis bivvies, Logic luggage and Big Kipper & Deep Sleep bedchairs.
Now, more than 30 years on, carp fishing has changed dramatically from when I first
started back in the early Seventies and so has the tackle. Taking advantage of latest
materials and production techniques we have created what I believe to be the best
products I’ve been involved in with in this range which includes our re-designed Cabrio
Bivvies, with the new Cabrio Cookhouse and Cabrio Capsule, Big Kipper bedchairs and
the excellent new range of Dream Maker carp rods, all of which I’m extremely proud
of…….I hope you will be too!

RETENTION SLING
This XL Recovery and Retention Sling has been designed for
the short term retention of carp while you set up your camera
equipment or perhaps while you wait until the light improves?
Featuring side and bottom mesh panels provide good water
exchange as well as excellent drainage when removing the
sling from the water whilst the top is constructed from a solid
material top designed to reduce any light entering the sling
from above helping to keep the fish calm and in a relaxed state.
Two tension bars which are held in position by small buckles
and ensure the sling does not ‘cling’ to the fish allowing
unrestricted movement within this sling which will comfortably
accept carp in excess of 100lb+!
Featuring two reinforced carry handles and a weigh strap, this
sling comes fitted with ‘D’ rings at both ends making it easier
to attach the sling with the fish facing away from the cord.
Supplied in a nylon ‘stink sleeve’ and retention cord which
packs away in pocket.

Back in the day when Rod created the first Dream Maker rods he set new standards in carp
rod design, rods that have since become almost iconic in reputation and status. Now with the
nearly two decades of advancements in material and manufacturing technologies, we have
created a range of lightweight but extremely responsive blanks that enable us to claim with
some confidence that the new Dream Makers are set to push the boundaries in rod design
once again!
Manufactured from 40T 1K Japanese low resin woven carbon cloths, all the rods feature an
abbreviated handle with Fuji DPS-18 Gunsmoke reel seats*, combination Japanese Shrink /
Duplon butt grip, Super slick, hard wearing 3 leg Zirconium Oxide guides, black whippings
with green trims and understated graphic.
Depending on the model, the actions vary throughout the range from Semi Progressive to
our Semi Fast models which feature an increased backbone for casting extreme range or
handling heavy PVA bags when required yet they all remain superb fish playing rods, with
forgiving tips to help prevent hook pulls when a fish lunges at close quarters.
Completing the range of 6 models, we have also added both Spod and Marker rods.
CARBON CLEANER
CARP RODS
This cleaner has been especially developed for the care
of High Quality carbon rods such as the Dream Maker.
Spray a little quantity of Cleaner on the dedicated
rag and rub carefully till your rod shines. If your rod
is very dirty, for instance after a winter session, clean
with warm water first and then use a small amount of
Cleaner as a protective layer.

The Hybrid 8-10ft has been designed for anglers who
want an extremely versatile rod that is ideal for fishing
small waters with tight to get to spots, stalking and
boat fishing. Combining an ultra slim blank, this 3lb
test curve rod has a lovely through action and it’s
adjustable length with unique locking mechanism
allow it to be shortened making it very compact to
transport

The RH ONE rods represent a high performance range

development, bringing together the latest production
technology coupled with the highest quality 1K woven
carbon fiber cloth has resulted in ‘The One’. Featuring
beautiful through actions making these rods a joy to
play fish at close quarters, they hide a inner strength
that can be called upon in situations where extra
power is needed to guide big fish away from danger!
With five models in the range starting with our 10’ 3lb
and going right up to our 13’ 3.50lb, there is a rod to
cover any situation you might encounter from stalking
and boat fishing to fishing those small intimate little
ponds right up to targeting the vast gravel pits and big
lakes where extreme distance fishing may be required
in search of your quarry.
