The Mark Belling Late Afternoon Show
The Mark Belling Late Afternoon Show
“STANDING UP FOR MILWAUKEE”
3 – 6 P.M. Weekdays
Dear Cruiser,
In addition to all of our regularly scheduled events on the Allure of
the Seas, Cruise & Tour is hosting an additional event, starring me, that
I would like to invite you to.
It is a fundraiser for the wonderful charity called Fisher House
Wisconsin. Dennis Crull of Cruise & Tour is providing you with
information on what this outstanding organization does. The event is
being called “Mark Belling’s Crystal Ball.” At this event, I will offer up
a handful of predictions in virtually every area of life that are either
surprising, controversial or not spoken of by many others. I’ll explain
my reasoning and you can either have the wisdom to agree or
disagree. Be warned, however. These will be good.
We are asking for a donation from attendees. Dennis has
enclosed information on how this will work. This event is purely
OPTIONAL and is in addition to all of the other events and perks that
have been advertised in connection with my cruise.
Here’s my first prediction. If you join us, you’ll have a great time!

Dear Mark Belling Cruiser,
Whose picture is that? It’s me in 1968. Today I am a 67-year-old Vietnamera vet and I am grateful that I have never needed the services of a VA
hospital. My dad is an 89-year-old World War II army air corps vet who
relies on the Milwaukee VA hospital for all of his care. Today, thousands of men and women from
my dad’s time right on up to recent returnees from Afghanistan and Iraq are in need of the medical
services and care provided by Milwaukee’s Zablocki VA Medical Center.
For a long time, I have been looking for a way to give something back to our vets and men and
women in uniform who have made the physical and emotional sacrifices that keep us free and safe.
Then I heard about Fisher House Wisconsin.
The Fisher House Foundation is a public-private partnership that builds and operates temporary
residential facilities near VA and military hospitals around the country. Families of service members
and veterans can stay at Fisher House free of charge while their loved one is undergoing treatment
or recovering from their wounds or injuries. Being there at that key time can make all the
difference.
A Fisher House has now been approved for Wisconsin on the grounds of the Zablocki
VA Medical Center. My goal is to raise $20,000 to help make Fisher House Wisconsin
a reality for our Wisconsin service members, vets, and their families.
I asked Mark Belling if he was willing to help by creating a special event for his upcoming cruise on
Allure of the Seas. Mark immediately agreed and the result is a new cruise event called “Mark
Belling’s Crystal Ball.” (See Mark’s letter for details.) We are asking attendees for a donation of $10
or more per person to Fisher House Wisconsin.
Now here’s the exciting part…
Through the power of matching funds, your tax-deductible donation to Fisher House Wisconsin can
mean so much more.

•
•
Cruise & Tour will match your donation dollar for dollar up to $10 per person.
Peggy and I will personally match your donation dollar for dollar up to $10 per person.
The Kowal Investment Group will match your donation dollar for dollar up to $10 per
person.
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line will match your donation of $10 or more per person with a $5
donation.

Collette Vacations will match your donation of $10 or more per person with a $5 donation.
AND
•
Prolamina Corporation has generously agreed to match your donation dollar for dollar up to
$25 per person.
What does this mean? It means that when you give $10 per person to Fisher House Wisconsin, your
donation is being matched by $55, turning your $10 into a $65 donation. $20 from a couple results
in a donation of $130. And because of the Prolamina Corporation match all the way to $25, a couple
donating $50 ($25 per person) will produce a donation to Fisher House Wisconsin of $190.

Thank you for your time and for your generous support of our Wisconsin service members,
veterans and their families. They give us all so very much and ask for so little in return.
Happy New Year and…
See you on the cruise!

P.S. The accompanying letter from Fisher House Wisconsin establishes that your donation is taxdeductible, and you’ll receive a written acknowledgment. You’ll be happy to know that, unlike some
charities that spend a high percentage of donations on salaries, administration and marketing, Fisher
House is an all-volunteer organization in which over 96% of donations go to provide real benefits to
veterans and their families. During a recent Fox News interview, a spokesperson for Charity
Navigator named Fisher House as one of three top charities you should consider for 2014 because
of their financial effectiveness and worthiness of their cause.

Box ticket package valued at $156!
Does your employer offer corporate matching funds for employee
donations to selected charities? Ask if Fisher House is a charity they support.
