Winter Season
History: MAYB is proud to once again offer Winter events for the 20112012 season. MAYB has been running summer youth tournaments for 18
years with enormous growth each year. In 2011, more than 4000 teams from
throughout the USA and Canada participated in our events. Celebrating our
12th year of offering Winter basketball tournaments we will be holding events
in KS, OK, MO, IA, AR, CO, TX, TN, MS, KY, NM, IN, IL, LA and NE
for 3rd-8th grade teams. We will again offer several National level events
attracting teams from throughout the USA.
Program:
Teams are organized by the current grade of the student/athlete,
not by age. Teams will compete against a wide variety of competition. While
we are a competitive organization, our main goal is to offer lots of court time
at an affordable rate. MAYB tournaments are fundraising opportunities
for each of the individual communities involved. All of our events are locally
hosted and sponsored. Unlike other organizations, our events and proceeds
stay in the community. No governing body asking for or taking proceeds are
involved. Gate fees, merchandise, and concessions are all managed by the
hosting organization.
The MAYB office accepts team registrations but we will make attempts to
help individuals find teams to play with. If you are looking for a team to play
with, contact your area director or call our National Office. MAYB does not
guarantee placement on a team.
Coaches, Practices, Insurance:
MAYB does not organize
teams or hire coaches. Many excellent coaches work with teams playing our
events, but they are not controlled by MAYB. Liability insurance is provided
at all our facilities during tournaments only. No individual health insurance
is provided at events, during practice, or during team travel. All teams
must carry grade card certification with them at each tournament for each
player. MAYB will attempt to monitor teams to the best of our ability. We see
no reason why someone would feel the need to cheat in a youth tournament.
Please check high school activities association rules in your state concerning
participation in these tournaments, in season and out!
Why Play MAYB:
MAYB will offer 12 grade divisions during the winter months and 16
grade divisions in the spring months. All grade divisions will be run at each
tournament as long as numbers allow. A, B and C brackets of talent levels will
be used when possible. MAYB does reserve the right to combine grade
divisions if necessary at specific tournaments. A team will never be asked
to play against any team more than one grade level ahead of their grade
level.

Cost:
Team entry for our basic Winter package will be $540 for 4
tournaments. Winter tournaments all have a minimum of 3 scheduled games.
On a team of 10 players each player would pay only $54 for the winter season
registration. Many of our teams have sponsors or use fundraising to offset
costs. Teams who choose our basic package can also register for additional
events throughout the winter season for $140 per event. All other teams are
accepted on a space available basis for $165. No discounts will be given after
the package registration deadline. No refunds are given after the individual
entry deadline of each event. A LATE FEE OF $30 WILL BE ASSESSED
ON ALL REGISTRATIONS NOT RECEIVED BY THE INDIVIDUAL
ENTRY DEADLINE OF THE TOURNAMENT.
How to Get Involved:
Registration materials are included in this
brochure. Feel free to call the National Office with any questions you may
have about registration.
Registration deadline for the Winter season tournament package is
November 15.
After November 15th, a $30 fee will be assessed to enter the fourtournament package. On December 1st, 2011 the package discount will no
longer be available!
Teams may also register for our events online at www.mayb.com. Registration
for teams after the November 15 date is on a first come, first served basis and at
a rate of $165 per event. As our tournaments continue to grow more and more
teams are turned away when entries come in late. Please plan ahead and take
advantage of our discounts. All registration goes through the National Office.

Lodging Assistance:
MAYB is happy to assist with lodging
arrangements. Simply call 1-800-509-5721. Reservations should be made at
least one month in advance of your tournaments. Larger tournaments should
be booked well before this time frame.
MAYB National Invitational Winter Kickoff: Similar to
our summer season kickoff event, which attracted more than 650 teams from
25 states in June of 2011, the Winter Kickoff continues to grow in size each
year. Top teams from throughout the region are making this event a regular
scheduled event in their season. All KS MAYB teams will take part in our
Winter Kickoff. Each team will receive a minimum of 3 scheduled games
with many teams playing more. Ability-based brackets will be used with
awards at all levels. Dates for the 2011 Winter Kickoff will be December
10-11.
MAYB Winter Finale:
Conclude the Winter season with MAYB’s
12 year old Winter Season Finale. Last year more than 150 teams from 6
states registered in our oldest winter season tournament. This year we will
again offer 3rd-12th grade divisions for boys and girls. Multiple ability
brackets will also remain available within each age group. This year’s Winter
Finale will be March 24-25, 2012.
M AY B S p r i n g S e a s o n : After completing the winter season with the Winter
Finale, continue your play with the MAYB spring season. For the sixth straight year we
will again offer 3rd-12th grade boys and girls divisions. Play begins March 31st – April
1st and will go every weekend until May 5th – 6th, 2012. We will offer spring tournaments in KS, TX, OK, MO, NE, AR, CO, IN, LA, and TN.

FOR THE FOUR TOURNAMENT PACKAGE.
M AY B N a t i o n a l S u m m e r K i c k o f f : We would like to invite your team
to be a part of the largest summer basketball tournament in the USA June 8-10, 2012 in
the Newton, KS area. Last year more than 650 teams from over 25 states participated
in this event. Each team receives a minimum of 5 scheduled games. Ability based
brackets are used after pool play with awards for all levels of competition. All Kansas
teams will be expected to participate in the Summer Kickoff.
M AY B N a t i o n a l To u r n a m e n t : The MAYB season will end with the
highly competitive National Tournament, August 2-5, 2012. The Wichita, KS area will
host the boys’ event and the girls’ event will be held in Stillwater, OK and Oklahoma
City, OK areas. A portion of the boys’ event will be played at Wichita State University.
The National Tournament varies slightly from our other tournaments with a 4 game
guarantee and only one tournament bracket for each age group. A separate fee applies
to this tournament. Last year over 650 teams from throughout the Nation participated in
this fast growing event. Games for this tournament will begin on Thursday evening.
Registration Instructions:
1. Complete registration form and sign.
2. Complete tournament selection form by checking tournaments you wish to
attend.
3. Complete roster form.
4. All KS teams attend the Winter Season Kickoff in Newton, KS December
10-11, 2011. All out of state teams are also invited to attend.
5. Send check or credit card and registration forms to national office before
November 15, 2011. Any teams wanting the package deal must meet the
November 15 deadline.
6. All forms and money must be received to be considered entered.
7. All teams will receive a tournament verification form in the mail or via email
within 3 days of registration. Please check this form for accuracy. Please
contact our office if you do not receive notification from our office verifying
your entry and your tournaments.
