Webinar Modules:
Module 1 - Basics
Course Outline: Overview of NMFTA, CCSB, CRC, Classification System and the NMFC,
including Classification Development
What will you gain? An understanding of what classification is, where it comes from, and how the
NMFC is developed. You will receive an introduction to the application of NMFC provisions.
Module 2 - Rules, Bills of Lading, and Packaging
Course Outline: General Rules, Packaging Rules & Specifications, and Bills of Lading
What will you gain? Building upon the material covered in Module 1, you will achieve an
understanding of the general classification rules and conditions. Furthermore, our staff packaging
consultant will review the major packaging rules and specifications.
Module 3 - Introduction to Interpretations
Course Outline: Principles of NMFC Interpretations with Instructional and Attendee Examples
What will you gain? Attendees will participate in hands-on interpretation of NMFC
provisions. Fundamentals of interpretations will be applied to attendee’s specific examples.
ClassIT will be employed to show item descriptions.
Module 4 - Advanced Interpretations and Recap
Course Outline: Advanced instruction on NMFC Interpretations using Attendee Examples.
Recap all aspects of the four modules. The substance of this module will be driven by
attendee’s questions and topics.
What will you gain? A deeper understanding of the NMFC, interpretations of products,
rules, bills of lading as well as packaging requirements. Attendee’s questions and
examples will assist in defining this module.
